| boy do i have some fun stories to tell!
PART ONE
before i start, sunday is usually my driving day in which i get behind the wheel and drive for my family. on sunday i drive to church, i drive to "wonder seafood" for some dim sum, i drive to the mall...and i kinda kinda drive home...
my mom, my brother (neil) and i were driving home from the mall (i was the one driving). my brother suggests that taking the back roads at roosevelt park would be the safest way, considering it's night time and i'm still not used to busy roads. okay, so before we leave i check everything: mirrors-check, seatbelt-check, headlights..."check". so we're on our way to the back roads of roosevelt park. it is dark, and very cold, and i really could not see where i am going. because it is so dark and i could not see where i am going, i am driving about 20mph in a 30mph area. soon enough, cars began to follow behind me and my slow pace. my brother informs me that i must speed up in order to fix the traffic behind me. so i'm thinking..."speed up, okay..." sure enough, i speed up and then BAM! right into the curb. i'm not sure why-maybe i am scared/startled, i don't know!...but i speed up even more when i hit the curb!.
as i made my way back onto the road, something did not sound right. sure enough, the front tire on the passenger side is flat. the way the tire/rim hit the curb made the tire's grip around the rim loose, letting the air out. "OH FUDGE!"..that's all i could think about. my mom, my brother, and i are stranded in the middle of a cold, dark park...with a flat tire that needs to be changed. my brother gets out of the car, looks at the damage, and he begins the process of changing the tire. he was thinking out loud and said "how am i going to change this tire. the ground is soggy, i can't work on the surface of the road, it's hella dark, and it's cold. okay." he opens the trunk and takes out the spare.
as soon as my brother got to spare out of the trunk, TADA!. God sends us a miracle!.. A TOW TRUCK. the driver of the truck ( chris) sees us and asks us what is wrong. we tell him that we have a flat, and being the kind generous person he is, he offered to change it for us. so he pulls over to the side of the surfaced road as my brother follows (and realizes that my headlights are OFF...my park lights are the lights that are on). the cool, amazing, truck driver (chris) changes the tire, and in a matter of minutes, the spare is on the car, and we're ready to go.
PART TWO:
today it is snowing. my dear friend kim and i are ready to go home after a long day at school. as we're leaving the EHS parking lot, and ready to turn left onto the BLVD of the Eagles...something sounds funny...
as kim is about to turn onto the road, we notice that the car won't go. we try reversing, but that does not work either. we step out of the car to see what's wrong, and surprise, surprise, the car is stuck in a pothole/icehole/snowhole. "OH FUDGE!"
kim calls her dad and tells him what has happened. he leaves their house to help us get out. kim and i stay in the car and wait for her dad. a mere seconds later, mr. chris gadomski pulls up behind us in his ford truck/suv. kim gets out of the car and suggests that he pull around because of the fact that we're stuck. he asks what happened, and being the incredible kind, generous, COOL, and AMAZING person he is, he offers us help. he goes into his truck, grabs some rope and he then ties it to the front of his truck and to the back of kim's car. i remember just watching him, and how "boy scout-ish" he looked as he was helping us. anyway, both the truck and the car reverse as chris's truck pulls kim's car out of the evil pothole/icehole/snowhole. by the time kim's father arrives, the problem is fixed.
My comments from part one and part two:
although i've been a bit "unlucky" with cars the past few days, i feel as if i am the luckiest person alive. God has really blessed me and he has really shown his love to me especially in those situations through the truck driver chris, and chris g. even though the car problems may have seemed bad, God prevailed and sent help as it was needed. my mom, my brother, and i could be sick because of the cold but no, God sent us that tow truck driver chris to help us. kim and i could have been stuck at EHS forever...while it was snowing but no, God sent us chris to help us. coincidence?...i think not. everything happens for a reason, and i feel like i need to share my testimony of God's love for me and the people i was with.
side note: ironic huh?...two people by the name of Chris helped in the dilemmas. like CHRISTopher. haha i'm dumb but whooo knows!
okay i love you bye!.
ps. school/ap history is a butt and i miss lisa and monie. |
