i've had one of the best weekends for a loooooong while.

on friday i went to this show with amanda and eunice. the bands were awesome and so incredibly nice! the guys from BROKEN SOLDIER came up to us, talked to us and they even played jokes on us! they were great and you could tell that they were really genuine. this band SKYLER was amazing! so was HOUSTON CALLS. those were my favorites for the night. i felt bad...amanda, eun, and i spent a lot! shirts, demos, pins/buttons, patches...we bought a lot! haha. but i'm happy...SUPPORT LOCAL BANDS = )
afterwards amanda's dad picked us up and we ended up at my house eating calamari and petite quiche...and we got to watch some of what a girl wants...

saturday i had to wake up early for princeton review classes. i went down 60 points from my last diagnostic test. hehehe. i'm determined to do better next time. after classes, dee and i went over eunice's house. we made spinach ravioli, and i felt like a cool kid coz i knew how to cook them and i knew how to make them look pretty. that boosted my self esteem. HAHA. well anyway, we watched BATTLE ROYALE which was awesome! i definitely recommend it, but it is a tad bloody and what not. i think that the jay and shivang honors kids remake is a lot better though...i think it's be sooo trendy if the people that are part of royale dressed up in uniforms and such. i'll bring my printer =)
so dee had to go home, and eun and i picked up erika. then we went to the mall to watch in good company. we met up with naima, neha, and nisha. the movie was cute, but i don't recommend spending $9 on it...it's worth a bargain mat ticket tho. so after a problem with finding floy, and when annie finally arrived we ate. haha...more problems coz everywhere had a 2 hour wait for a group of 8. after some great conversations, and a whole lot a laughs, we walked around the mall for a bit. i copied eunice and brianne and i got a fun thermal with holes for your thumbs. there's a lot more to it, but i'll just leave my saturday at that. i got home and worked on my homework.

sunday was yet another early day. i woke up around 7am to get ready for canning at shoprite with dee, amanda U, and amanda H. it was cool coz a lot of people were more than willing to donate money. but then again there were those weirdos that just give you a funny look and say no. oh yea, there are also the skeptics that were all "what's this for?...are you sure it's going to this charity?"...blah blah. it's kinda sad how that's the way some people are. i found out that we raised over $780 by just canning. afterwards i got home around 10:30am and once again i started my homework. soon enough jon picked me up so we could pick up mark and then head over to the south assembly. the assembly went well...it seems like everyone had fun. good job to the service team. it's cool having parent coordinators...they're a HUGE help to us. afterwards we went to the youth mass. the homily was awesome. i learned that you need to take all of your suffering and lift it up to God. Do what you need to do to the best of your abilities for HIM.

okay that was a looooong entry. but hey yo, bring on the rest of the week!

ps. i didn't watch the super bowl coz i'm not a cool kid. = (

this really opened my eyes and made me truly see. thanks grace

Funny how a $20.00 bill looks so big when
you take it to church, but so small when you
take it to the mall.

Funny how big an hour serving God looks and
how small 60 minutes are when spent
watching television, playing sports, sleeping
or taking a lunch break.

Funny how long a couple of hours spent at
church are but how short they are when
watching a good movie.

Funny how we get thrilled when a football
game goes into overtime, but we complain
when a sermon is longer than the regular
time.

Funny how laborious it is to read a chapter in
the Bible and how easy it is to read 200-300
pages of a best selling novel.

Funny how we believe what newspapers say,
but question what the Bible says.

Funny how people scramble to get a front
seat at a concert, but scramble to get a
back seat at the church service.

Funny how we cannot fit a gospel meeting
into our schedule with our yearly planner but
we can schedule for other events at a
moment's notice.

Funny how we look forward to that big date
on Friday night, but complain about getting
up for church on Saturday morning.

Funny how we are rarely late to work, but
always late to church.

Funny how we call God our Father and Jesus
our brother, but find it hard to introduce
them to our family.

Funny how small our sins seem, but how big
their sins are.

Funny how we demand justice for others, but
expect mercy from God.

Funny how much difficulty some have learning
the gospel well enough to tell others, but
how simple it is to understand and explain the
latest gossip about someone else.

Funny how we can't think of anything to say
when we pray, but don't have any difficulty
thinking of things to talk about to a friend.

Funny how we are so quick to take directions
from a total stranger when we are lost, but
are hesitant to take God's direction for our
lives.

Funny how so many church goers sing "Standing on the
promises" but all they do is sit on the premises.

Funny how people want God to answer their
prayers, but refuse to listen to His counsel.

Funny how we sing about heaven, but live
only for today.

Funny how people think they are going to
Heaven but don't think there is a Hell.

Funny how it is okay to blame God for evil
and suffering in the world, but it is not
necessary to thank Him for what is good and
pleasant.

Funny how when something goes wrong, we
cry, "Lord, why me?" but when something
goes right, we think, "Hey, it must be me!"

Or wait.. maybe all this isn't so "funny" after all.

boy do i have some fun stories to tell!

PART ONE

before i start, sunday is usually my driving day in which i get behind the wheel and drive for my family. on sunday i drive to church, i drive to "wonder seafood" for some dim sum, i drive to the mall...and i kinda kinda drive home...

my mom, my brother (neil) and i were driving home from the mall  (i was the one driving). my brother suggests that taking the back roads at roosevelt park would be the safest way, considering it's night time and i'm still not used to busy roads. okay, so before we leave i check everything: mirrors-check, seatbelt-check, headlights..."check". so we're on our way to the back roads of roosevelt park. it is dark, and very cold, and i really could not see where i am going. because it is so dark and i could not see where i am going, i am driving about 20mph in a 30mph area. soon enough, cars began to follow behind me and my slow pace. my brother informs me that i must speed up in order to fix the traffic behind me. so i'm thinking..."speed up, okay..." sure enough, i speed up and then BAM! right into the curb. i'm not sure why-maybe i am scared/startled, i don't know!...but i speed up even more when i hit the curb!.

as i made my way back onto the road, something did not sound right. sure enough, the front tire on the passenger side is flat. the way the tire/rim hit the curb made the tire's grip around the rim loose, letting the air out. "OH FUDGE!"..that's all i could think about. my mom, my brother, and i are stranded in the middle of a cold, dark park...with a flat tire that needs to be changed. my brother gets out of the car, looks at the damage, and he begins the process of changing the tire. he was thinking out loud and said "how am i going to change this tire. the ground is soggy, i can't work on the surface of the road, it's hella dark, and it's cold. okay." he opens the trunk and takes out the spare.

as soon as my brother got to spare out of the trunk, TADA!. God sends us a miracle!.. A TOW TRUCK. the driver of the truck ( chris) sees us and asks us what is wrong. we tell him that we have a flat, and being the kind generous person he is, he offered to change it for us. so he pulls over to the side of the surfaced road as my brother follows (and realizes that my headlights are OFF...my park lights are the lights that are on). the cool, amazing, truck driver (chris) changes the tire, and in a matter of minutes, the spare is on the car, and we're ready to go.

PART TWO:

today it is snowing. my dear friend kim and i are ready to go home after a long day at school. as we're leaving the EHS parking lot, and ready to turn left onto the BLVD of the Eagles...something sounds funny...

as kim is about to turn onto the road, we notice that the car won't go. we try reversing, but that does not work either. we step out of the car to see what's wrong, and surprise, surprise, the car is stuck in a pothole/icehole/snowhole. "OH FUDGE!"

kim calls her dad and tells him what has happened. he leaves their house to help us get out. kim and i stay in the car and wait for her dad. a mere seconds later, mr. chris gadomski pulls up behind us in his ford truck/suv. kim gets out of the car and suggests that he pull around because of the fact that we're stuck. he asks what happened, and being the incredible kind, generous, COOL, and AMAZING person he is, he offers us help. he goes into his truck, grabs some rope and he then ties it to the front of his truck and to the back of kim's car. i remember just watching him, and how "boy scout-ish" he looked as he was helping us. anyway, both the truck and the car reverse as chris's truck pulls kim's car out of the evil pothole/icehole/snowhole. by the time kim's father arrives, the problem is fixed.

My comments from part one and part two:

although i've been a bit "unlucky" with cars the past few days, i feel as if i am the luckiest person alive. God has really blessed me and he has really shown his love to me especially in those situations through the truck driver chris, and chris g. even though the car problems may have seemed bad, God prevailed and sent help as it was needed. my mom, my brother, and i could be sick because of the cold but no, God sent us that tow truck driver chris to help us. kim and i could have been stuck at EHS forever...while it was snowing but no, God sent us chris to help us. coincidence?...i think not. everything happens for a reason, and i feel like i need to share my testimony of God's love for me and the people i was with.

side note: ironic huh?...two people by the name of Chris helped in the dilemmas. like CHRISTopher. haha i'm dumb but whooo knows!

okay i love you bye!.

ps. school/ap history is a butt and i miss lisa and monie.
