Better late than never, I guess

I just added a photo album with some pictures of the wedding. I got to 10 pictures, then ran out of "Browse to Add" slots. I'll have to add more later or maybe put them on photobucket.

A few words about being married... "They say" that being married will make you face flaws you never knew you had. Well, it's true. Maybe you all knew that I stubborn, condescending, argumentative, insensitive, unenthusiastic, noncommittal, selfish, and hard-of-hearing, but I, um... well, yeah, I knew it too (except for the hard-of-hearing bit). I just didn't think it was all that bad. You mean someone can actually get his/her feelings hurt if I laugh at them? Pshaw! My tendency to add caveats and qualifiers to every statement can be frustrating?!? Reminding people of all the obstacles and the ways that a plan can fail is kind of a downer? I suppose that having someone correct you all the time might get irritating, but come on... I don't really do that, do I?

Poor Mike.

I think Tim must wonder how he missed so many of my flaws before we got married...and for some reason, it seems like I have so many more than him. Go figure...

Huh??
This is a total shocker.  Since you didn't update much I stopped reading.  But now Xanga has this new thing that shows me when people update, and I was like, "WHAT?????"  WOW!  So, congratulations on your play, on the  new boyfriend, on the engagement, and WOOOO WOOO!  Congrats on getting married!

Hi Jilly....Bob Hess left a comment on my xanga, thinking it was your xanga, it seems. He left his email address if you want to get in touch with him.

HI Jill.....thanks for reading my book review!  Yeah, I think the "five love languages" is a very eye-opening concept.  Chapman wrote it with couples in mind, so you and Mike might get a lot out of it.

Regarding your post, Colin and I talk a lot about how marriage is like someone holding up a mirror to us.  It's easy to hide your flaws when you live alone (or to even think they are not there)!  We, too, are starting to unserstand how God uses the marriage relationship to help make us more like Him.  We are forced to deal with things in our character that we might not otherwise deal with.   Not always fun, but if this is the path that makes us more like Him, I guess it's worth submitting to!

One more thing:  CFC is trying to compile a list of college alumni.  If you want to send me your contact info, and Lori's and anyone else's you might have, I will pass it along to them.  ann.eliz.mackey at gmail

That would be great if you could make it for Nathanael's birthday. I had to laugh when you asked about hotel recommendations, because I really should have some, but I honestly have never even noticed what hotels are around here...I guess cause I've never had need of one. I can look into some, though, to see if there are any located conveniently (though I think it will still be at least a 10-15 minute drive to get to our house from the closest hotel). I'll let you know.
