This is completely irrelevant to the general topics I've been covering but I don't know what to ask for my birthday.. I never do. I always ask for CD's, because.. my life without music would be so deprived.

But I don't really know. I don't know what to ask from people, and I don't even know what I want. Well...I know what I want, but it's more of a selfish thing where I want to get it myself rather than it be given to me.

Even if it is December, and it is the month of giving, I would just ask for some company and a phone call just to know people are just thinking of me on my birthday. Trust me, it really will mean a lot to me.

<3

But for musical entertainment, check out Adele

Her Chasing Pavements music video is good too!! But link I was looking at said that it was disabled soo search it and watch it. But I like this video too. It looks like it's at a dock somewhere, so with all the stage lights it looks hauntingly beautiful :)

I am stressed out.

And I'm thinking about life again.

This mainly comes up when I'm stressed out about school, so I will try not to repeat myself so much.

And it mainly comes up when I'm writing an essay just to clear my mind and try to write more objectively about my subject.

But it really is annoying writing for upper division writing. I can understand objectivity, and trying to win an argument through ways that make people on both sides to think clearly about the situation and realize that their own arguments can be used against them. I know my own arguments can be used against me, and they have in the past.
But then there's also originality and our own personal stance that we do have to take that makes objectivity sometimes very difficult to apply in papers. For every issue there is a yay or nay stance on it, and then there's the middleman trying to make everyone understand the situation. But through the school system and when we are writing essays, it was always, we "can't sit on the fence, pick a side and go with it. If you can't write strongly on the side you wanted to, switch sides and argue the other side."

So then I wonder if we are trained to write what we actually honestly think and believe in, or if we are just trained to write about what we can argue best for despite what we believe in just for the grade. And even if we do argue out opinion well, it is just our own opinion. I'm not a graduate, MBA, PHD, doctor, or whatever piece of paper that's supposed to be a measure of my intelligence. Sometimes opinions are weak standing alone...or at least that's what my TA and professors make me feel like.

And even then, I'm taking an Ethics and Justice in International Affairs upper division writing class, so it's very difficult to say something without offending the other side when dealing with whats right and wrong. My thoughts of the class were, "Well, if it's ethics and justice, then as long as I argue my side well of what I feel is right, then I can't go wrong there". Apparently I can, :(

Anyway, I am just venting about this paper because I don't like to write for school.

But also life issues are the same old thing. I feel... a little disconnected from myself. Too much daydreaming probably. Trying to find a divide between being an adult and being an adolescent.

Also I sometimes wonder if I should copyright my blogs. I think someone can run away with what I'm saying sometimes and put in a good line for their book and then I get no credit for it :( Someone better not make a million off of me unless I get recognition for it!!!

That is all :)

Sorry to keep going at it in the subject, but facebook comments made me think a little more. And some of this stuff may be repeat if you look at my fb.

So someone stated that there were a lot of people who are tolerant of gays/lesbians who voted yes on the proposition, and that even though they aren't homophobic, they still choose to vote yes on Prop 8.

What does tolerance mean? I have gay and lesbian friends, and hung out with them before, and they've had a significant other before. So I'm tolerant. If they were to invite me to a wedding because they love each other so much I'd go and support them, because they are my friends who found someone to spend their life with. So I'm tolerant.

It is hypocritical to say that you are tolerant of homosexual people, and yet deny them marriage, because if you were really tolerant of them, then you would be tolerant of same-sex marriage. So don't go trying to save your name trying to say that oh yah, I have gay friends, I just don't want them to get married.

What are people really afraid of? That this acceptance of homosexuality is going to spread? That it's going to be taught in school now? So does that mean that when interracial marriage was seen as socially acceptable it started being taught to kindergardeners? Even then, what's the problem? I know I keep killing the posts with questions, but really, what is the problem?

Even so, I still believe there is a violation that there is an integration of the church and state. People bring up that "In the Bible, it says that a woman and a man should be together" Hence, if it's from the Bible, you keep it in the Bible, not transcend it into state constitution. Practice whatever religion you want to practice, go to whatever church you want to go to if you truly believe that man and a women are only supposed to be together, but don't bring it to the state. Especially California, one of the most diversified states in the nation.

I don't know, it is a long road to take, but if we already fought a war like this before why is it being fought again?

Deng, I had a blog topic in mind that might seem irrelevant now that Obama won, but I'll type it out anyway because it's still on my mind.

I've been observing the candidacy and the issues and the propositions and a lot of things are still not sitting right with me.

First of all, people come to America for equal rights and opportunities. That's why immigrants come to America, better rights and opportunities. Isn't that the whole basis of how America was founded and came to be? "We hold these truths to be self evident and equal..." It took some centuries to build up women's rights and rights for people with colored skin, but it was done. And now with an African American president, we finally broke the race barrier. I wonder though, if you look at the color of which states went for Obama and McCain it's like the Confederates and Patriots separated again. And the popular vote is amazingly close. Nevertheless, Obama still won.

HOWEVER, what the hell is up with the propositions? Legally banning abortions and gay marriages??? I don't care what the hell you believe in, for or against either issues, but seriously? I thought we were free to practice what we believe in no matter what, and you're telling me that you are enforcing your values onto another person who doesn't agree with it? So does that mean if I don't believe in the Church that I should go up to the governor and say, "Mr. Schwarzenegger, I don't like churches, and so do several others, and because we believe in this so strongly, you need to ban it" You think that's extreme? Then who are you to FORCE people and punish them for the decisions that they make because they choose to be who they are? You know how furious people from Rome and Greece would be if you proposed this idea to the wayyy centuries ago? There's supposed to be a separation of church and state, isn't that why there were wars and philosophers to prevent the church from being integrated into the state?

I don't agree that minors have to report to their parents to get an abortion 48 hours prior to getting one, because we do not live in an ideal world. It does not build stronger family relationships, because if you already had a strong family relationships you would tell them willingly. And even then, the decision is COMPLETELY up to the mother whether or not to abort her child. How is she going to raise the kid? You'd rather her tell her child, I only had you because its illegal to abort you? Are you going to guarantee that every child in an adoption center is going to a good family? Because if that's true, then why are there still orphans? Why are children being abandoned at day care centers?

I don't agree that there should be a ban on gay marriages. Love is love, and people with same sex parents would probably raise a family a lot better than hetero marriages. You scared that it's going to spread and become a trend that everyone is going to be gay now? Who cares? There will always be people who are going to be more attracted to their same sex, regardless of what you have to say to them. Marriage is a right between two people in love. Since there's a ban on same sex marriages, shouldn't there be a ban on hetero marriages too then to even it out?

What the hell is up with all the censorship? Isn't the law supposed to be used to protect people?

And even then, if these rights are going to be taken away, what else will? Is there going to be a curfew set now on minors? Books are already being banned for sexual content. OOOooo I'm sorry, your parents had sex before, I'm 100% sure, otherwise, how are you here? Movies are having controversies because of sex, while movies that show violence are not. Hmmm so comedic movies poking fun at porn is not acceptable, while, Saw IvVV whatever, is? One scene shows a guy where a pendulum saw slowly drops to cut the guy in half. So this is more acceptable than sex? At least someone is born out of the process of sex, not killed.

What else is going to be taken away? America, land of the free, equal rights and opportunities, that's a straight out lie if these issues are considered "controversial" and its a necessity to ban. So you're going to take away marriage rights, life rights, what we read, movies we watch, what else are you going to take away? In the NY times article, one state even wanted to take the rights away from Asian Americans from owning land. REALLY?!?! Are you serious? Even though we have a black president, we are still having racial issues, social issues, SEVERAL issues, that needs to be considered, not whether or not is should be passed, but whether or not it's worth spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on to ban or not ban, we should consider whether it is really an issue we need to be spending our time on.

HELLOOOOOOO WE ARE IN A FINANCIAL CRISIS!! If you have that much money to spend maybe you can relieve the United States debt a little bit instead of paying attention to petty matters. You opinions are your opinions, and you can voice it. But don't force it on another person. You have no right at ALL to force your values, your ethics, onto an other person. What makes you so high and mighty force someone to say, no you can't marry the person you love. Or no, you can't make the decision for yourself for your child.

And even then, the campaigns were really all a reality tv show. Are you really going to spend millions of dollars bashing each other? How is that supposed to show that you are actually going to prevent government excess spending? Linking terrorists acts, Keating Five theories, and endless others... Really? Is that a credible way to gain a reputation? How much time did you actually spend talking about your ideas and what you're going to do to change America? The third presidential debate was embarrassing to watch when they spent a good while talking about campaign ads.

Nevertheless, this is not the end. Keep up the fight for equal rights, and fight hard. If the government actually allows propositions that tell us who we can and can't marry, we all really need to fight in what we believe in and force the change to happen, not rely on a president to make it all happen. I believe that Obama will bring change, but he can only do so much. We need to bring change ourselves.

Online divorcee jailed after killing virtual hubby

TOKYO: A 43-year-old Japanese woman whose sudden divorce in a virtual game world made her so angry that she killed her online husband's digital persona has been arrested on suspicion of hacking, police said Thursday.

The woman, who is jailed on suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data, used his identification and password to log onto popular interactive game "Maple Story" to carry out the virtual murder in mid-May, a police official in northern Sapporo said on condition of anonymity, citing department policy.

"I was suddenly divorced, without a word of warning. That made me so angry," the official quoted her as telling investigators and admitting the allegations.

The woman had not plotted any revenge in the real world, the official said.

She has not yet been formally charged, but if convicted could face a prison term of up to five years or a fine up to $5,000.

Players in "Maple Story" raise and manipulate digital images called "avatars" that represent themselves, while engaging in relationships, social activities and fighting against monsters and other obstacles.

The woman used login information she got from the 33-year-old office worker when their characters were happily married, and killed the character. The man complained to police when he discovered that his beloved online avatar was dead.

wow.... is all I have to say...
