Redsox!

i went to the redsox game today and it was soooooooo much fun!

things i liked about the game today:
1. the stadium is small.
2. the stadium is filled with japanese people and japanese language!
3. i got to see ichiro and matuzaka-kun* (from far)!!
4. i got to go to the game with very cool people!!!
5. i decided to become a redsox fan!!!!
* just like many other japanese girls in my age, i thought he was the cutest thing when he first played for the national highschool championship.  i even went out with this guy once, mainly because he looked just like matuzaka-kun.

things i didn't like about the game today:
there was this guy with a japanese looking wig and a diaper.  i think he's trying to mimic japanese culture somehow, which may come from a good heart, but i was very offended.  it was so desrespectful.   he should be thankful that i am a christian and don't hurt people any more, only because Jesus told me not to.

(maybe) Ohio

before uploading pictures from the awesome trip to IL and thoughts on the Korea-Japan (or Japan-Korea) prayer meeting at urbana, i may have to write about my (hopefully) upcoming trip to ohio!

my father is coming to OH and KY for business trip and i want to go see him.   i am excited!  what is out there anyway though?    i hope ohio will be as flat as illinoi.

urbana highlight

worship here at urbana is awesome.  it is about as good as in highrock.

the best worship at urbana06 was tonight at the korea-japan joint prayer meeting.  it was at the one of the hotel conference room and with about 50 people.  it was neither at the main dorm with very professional band nor with 22,000 people.  the band was not the best thing, we were packed in a small, but it was simply amazing to see both koreans and japanese Christians singing together in each other's language.

people here are excited about the "reconciliation" happened last night at the joint prayer meeting, but, to me, tonight's worship was more beautiful and real.   more on later....

Urbana06, baby! - day 0

urbana06 will start tomorrow.  i went to volunteer orientation today and found out that my volunteer assignment load is much lighter than other people's.  i only have to work for one day before the conference starts, which means i will not have to miss any parts of urbana.  i feel very blessed!

as i was reading through the list of seminars that i can attend, i found too many seminars i want to go.   so here is a question:

should i attend the seminars that i am interested in and have already done some research on (i.e. "healing the children of war: orphans, street children, and child soldiers," "human trafficking")

OR

should i go out to explore something new (i.e. "asian women's leadership role," "international student ministry," "evangelism")

suggestions??

by the way, intervarity press (ivpress.com) bookstore at urbana has a good discount (20-50% off).  if anybody wants to buy a book from ivpress, let me know!

Mid-west adventure: Day 4

christmas eve in buda!

we all went to josh's home church, took a lot of pictures of buda (i succesfully took some without annoying minhee :P), took a walk around josh's parents' property, and had a great feast!

spending some time with the wonderful family of josh's, i can now see why people think america is the best thing in the world.  they are very loving, fun, modest and god's loving people.  josh's parents and grandparents made me look forward to having a family like theirs someday.

a great quote of today by joshpapa: "we stopped taking the road; deer is so bad on the road."  not traffic, but deer.  different world, different world.

food for today:
breakfast buffet at the apple restaurant
christman lunch/dinner - turkey, mashpotato, hamball (!), rolls, and ribbon salad.  [fabulous]
desser: whity's peppermint ice cream [loved it!]
