//Funnyness..

Not really much of an update here, but just posting this thing I had that was sent to me awhile back from Craigslist. It amuses me. Goodday mate!

A nearly-free car. No joke.

Date: 2005-08-30, 12:11AM EDT

So I have this car. As of right now it runs, but it needs more love than I am prepared to offer it. Frankly it is the sort of car which, if you borrowed it, totaled it, called me to apologize for destroying it… I would say to you “I don’t care about the car… are YOU okay?” I realize that is the correct thing to say, but in this case I would, you know, MEAN IT. In other words, I want to be rid of the car.

But I recognize that simply GIVING you a car might create some sort of weirdness, some lingering feeling in your mind that you OWED me a favor. I don’t want you worrying that I am going to call you one day and ask you to help me move, or for you to drive me to the airport or some other clumsy nonsense. I don't want to bump into you on Ludlow and have you all worried that I am going to try to be your friend. I may not be wealthy enough to afford decent transportation, but I am socially sophisticated enough to understand and appreciate the nature of personal boundaries.

Therefore, in order to alleviate any sort of perceived imbalance that could exist between us, I have listed below several items of nominal or sentimental value that I would like from you in exchange for my vehicle. I would very much like any ONE of these:

1) A huge (well, BIG) block of Parmesano-Reggiano cheese. Not that flavorless brand from Kroger, either, I mean the good stuff. The kind of cheese that delicately melts and turns nutty and creamy on your tongue. It should have those dotted marks along the rind indicating authenticity. I am simply addicted to the stuff, but it is usually a bit more than I want to spend.

2) Any one of the five following meals:
· A big-ass plate of Huevos Rancheros, Garden of Eatin’ blue corn chips, guacamole, a pitcher of sweet iced tea and a pint of Graeters (chocolate, nach)
· Braised short ribs with roasted red potatoes, steamed veggies, and some homemade cookies (any sort)
· A Cornish Game Hen, butterflied, roasted, and drizzled with truffle oil, served with wild rice and blanched haricots verts. Oh, and tapioca pudding. I could supply the truffle oil.
· Paella. I’m not too picky about what’s in it, as long as it contains meat, is vaguely traditional and it is made with short grain rice, pref. Valencia. I even have a paella pan.
· If the previous four items are difficult (or just seem pretentious), that’s okay too. I will settle for a bucket of KFC and some HoHo’s, along with a 2L of Coke.
Note that you would not be required to eat with me. Just drop the food off and we can talk about the title.

3) A beautiful silk tie. You don’t need to go all out here, just something slightly nicer than the average department store job. I need things to go with blue tones and green tones, and I like softer, earthier colors…and nothing too busy.

4) One of those whimsical Alessi teakettles designed by Michale Graves. Saw one at the CAC gift shop.

5) An MP3 of this Jonathan Richman song. I don’t know the name of the song, or the name of the album, or even how the song goes. All I know is that it starts out “Are we recording?” and launches into this happy, bouncy bit of pure Jonathan Richmanny goodness. If you have ever seen him live, you understand why this would be so valuable. He sings with such passion and quirky vulnerability, listening to him always makes me feel better. You can just put this on a flash drive and let me… uh… “borrow” it.

Please contact me if you are interested. I am open to discussing alternatives.

(the car, by the way, is a 93 Ford Tempo. It has 174K miles on it, may be about to blow a gasket, and could use new breaks. The AC doesn’t work, it has dents in the side, and it has a front seat permanently reclined all the way back. The gas thingie won’t automatically pop, which means you have to pop the trunk and release it manually. It eats gas and tapes. Oh, and it smells funny. Otherwise it’s the perfect car. Like I said, it runs, for now.)

//Love Your Enemies.

I have a problem. I really do. I passionately love my friends like no other. But if you're on my bad side, I can't help but show it. I've been trying really hard to "love my enemies"... something that I wanted to focus on a lot since pioneer school. But when your "enemies" are serious jerks, that's pretty hard isn't it? I guess that's where self-control comes in. One person in particular (that will remain unnamed) needs to step off before a fuse blows is all I'm saying. But you know what hurts is even though I know deep down inside this person is doing it on purpose to push me to the edge. She has a similar personality as me, and in that I mean a fiery temper and a love for 'justice'. So when I see her do things, it makes me not want to do the same back, but a person can only handle so much before one blows. But I really really really do not appreciate this constant backstabbing two-faced ways. So in the meantime I just pray, and hope, and pray that a piano will fall on her when she's walking down the street. Just kidding, that's mean. But I do hope patience and me screaming at the top of the mountains by myself and then calmly praying will do me some good. Lol.

Anyways moving on, I was going to post pictures but now we have a big dilemma. My computer seems to have no space whatsoever on it so that I can't put anymore pictures on it, on top of that the camera needs to be sent in to be fixed but I need to empty off some pictures off the actual camera memory before I send it in, but before I empty I have to burn all my pictures and junk onto discs which would take me forever to do. So until all that gets done there won't be any pictures. Boohoo.

I need to move out of this junkhole of a town.

That is all.

//Boo Hiss.

Life hasn't been so kind lately since I got back from pioneer school. Other than that pioneer school was really good. Made some new friends, and the teachers were really effective and good and amusing, if I do say so myself. I still need to do a major picture update, whenever I get all my pictures together. But for now I'll just post pictures off my phone. :D

Hyunae, Ayeong, SsongYi, MoonHee unnie, Me and Non.

Non's so cute. :D

Minjae visited us in Las Vegas. The picture just amuses me.

Hyunae is so cute too. Lol

Well besides that half my face is gone and huge, next to me is Sura and her sister below, HaYahn (white)-our new family in Vegas, and then its Ayeong and Non.

Suhyuhng, what a cutie. And what a little brat at that. But still cute.

Me and Sura.

Moonhee is adorable too. Aww.

Anyways, life has been blah. I realized I like the line of work I do, but I don't like where I am. I think I could rant for days about this, really. First of all because it's a new company certain things aren't set in stone, and it allows for a bit of unfairness. It's at an unstable point right now. It is indeed hard working w/ witnesses. It's a different kind of hard. It tests that quality of "putting up with one another". Funny how that works. Yesterday was my first day back on the job and already I was like FOOEY! All I have to say is that some people are ridiculous and need some common sense smacked in them. And thats the end of that. Haha

Have a nice day.

//Short Vacation Summary.

Hmm if I compared 2005 summer to 2006 summer, I say there were more things I liked about 2005 as opposed to 2006. Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun, and met a lot of people in 2006, but I traveled more in 2005. But who knows my viewpoint might change, summers not over yet.

Nayoung unnie, Jo hyungjae, Hyun Ho, and Hyun Joon all came to Vegas, that was entertaining, and then I saw them again at Korean Convention, and then again in Portland. I'm sure they have at least seen enough of me to last them the rest of their life. That was like 2 weeks straight being together. But it was entertaining and fun. Pics will be posted someday. =)

Korean Convention was really good. A lot of good talks, and the drama was good. It had some cool special effects. But I'd say I favor going English first and then Korean like last year. More beneficial. Took lots of pictures. And going to English Convention this weekend. So we'll see what happens til then.

On the other hand... COLIMA! Portland was really fun. Especially when we went to the beach and stuff. I love the beach with a passion like no other. And we stayed up ridiculously late and lots of good videos, which sadly will not be posted. >D And Non and I are determined to spread the word of COLIMA around. Other then that, I really appreciate all the hard work Nayoung unnie had to go through to take care of two cuckcoo girls for a whole week, not to mention Jo hyungjae, and all of the family members. Thanks again to Hyun ho and Hyun Joon for taking Nayoung's position at the shop. =) And thanks to all the nice young people that hung out with us. Good times indeed.

So...... so far.... the summer has been packed in with non stop visitors and it continues, because evidently Minjae and his friend is in town. And then Jane is coming in next week... YES!! And I've heard rumors of Gyukchi bongsa. Which because of convention, it doesn't seem like I can go. Oh well... I think that is all for now. Pictures to come someday soon.. after everything settles down.

Oh yeah...
Congratulations to Paul on his baptism, and Hyun Ho on passing the driving test.

I think thats it? Bye~!

//Pretty Music.

A couple weeks back Euhn Joo unnie from San Francisco was here. And she sang until about 4/5ish in the morning. It was crazy stuff. Anyways, here's some clips from our karoke night.. She's such a good singer. Click below and on that page there's two links.

[[Click here to go to sample site]]

You have to listen to the end in Phantom of the Opera, she missed the finale part a little bit, but it's still really good. For sure I can't hit those notes. haha.
Makes me wish I could sing well.  Haha.

Anyways... It's Monday. Poo. Good news is it's circuit overseer visiting week, and I will soon be on vacation and away (somewhat) from all this work...

Goodbye!
