annoyed

just got home from shopping at giants and what a night it was.  it was the first time that i stood up for myself and gave the cashier a piece of my mind.

basically, i got in line (well there was no one in line) and when i got there, she seemed very annoyed as and whispered "JESUS CHRIST".  i didn't say anything at first and watched her scan my groceries.  i was the only person in line.  she didn't even bother bagging all my stuff.  they were literally pilled up.  i had the courage to say to her, "are you going to bag these?" she said, "YEA".  it made me furious.  her customer service or lack thereof sucked pretty bad.  her face reaction can't be painted and she looked as if she doesn't want to be there nor do her job.  i told her that if she didn't want to be there or do her job, then maybe it's time for her to find a new job.  yaps, i said that.  then she said, "excuse me?"  then i told her i heard what you said the moment i got there and then she said, i was talkin to someone else.  come on, cut the crap.  she wasn't talkin to anyone, 'coz no one was there.

i was scared but at the same time, i didn't have to take that or take it from anyone.  i work in a customer service industry and i know how it feels to be on the other end, being a customer and being the person providing the service....every single day.  if there was a manager that night, i could have filed a formal complaint.  yes, i do understand she was tired and didn't want to deal with any customers but that is the nature of the business where she's in.  but who isn't tired?   i come across every type of customer and i make sure that they're satisfied with whatever service or help i needed to provide them.  we're trained to provide these types of services.  sure i get annoyed with customers but at the same time, i don't let the customers feel or let alone think that they're such a bother.  when i do feel that way, most of the time i want to yell, i say it in my mind; and where i work, i'm on the phone the whole day, they can't see me....so that's my advantage.  i can make all the gestures to make fun of the customers or whatever but not any instance i have told them or make them hear of my frustrations...that's a definite no no.

was i right?  i don't think i needed to apologize to anyone.  i deserve to be tread as a customer, as a person.

someone sent me this.  i thought i'd share.  good story

The following pictures are of the same place but taken in different seasons...

Lessons on Life

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge
things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look
at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in
summer, and the youngest son in the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe
what they had seen.

The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted.

The second son said no it was covered with green buds and full of promise.

The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so
sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen.

The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping
with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they
had each seen but only one season in the tree's life.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season,
and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy, and love that come

from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your spring,
the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall.

Moral lessons:

Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.

Don't  judge life by one difficult season.

Persevere through the difficult patches and better times are sure to come some time or later
