BOB BARR FOR PRESIDENT
Does your McCain vote feel less like a vote for McCain and more like a vote AGAINST Obama? Then you need to vote Liberterian! Vote FOR correct policies. Vote FOR someone who GETS the Constitution. Don't vote against someone. That, my friend, is "stinkin' thinkin'." Vote BOBB BARR for president and Wayne Root for vice president. Feel good about yourself.

Date night

MAMA MIA! WHAT A MOVIE!

Okay, Your Yorel had his doubts.
A movie featuring Abba music?
An Abba musical?
Come.
On.

But, WOW.

Mama Mia! What a movie!

Fun. Your Yorel has never seen a crowd in a theater get so involved in a movie. See Meryl Streep in her finest flick. Hear Pierce Brosnan sing, er... try to sing. He's awful! But it doesn't matter. He's singing Abba music. Anyone can sing Abba music.

Highly recommend. http://www.mammamiamovie.com/

Yorel is headed out

SEE GLENN BECK LIVE TONIGHT!

From a Glenn Beck email:

If you don't know by now that Glenn is performing live in Dallas tonight, and being simulcast throughout the country in movie theaters everywhere...welcome back from the rock you just crawled out from underneath. Glenn is encouraging everyone to take pictures at the theatre you attend tonight so he can post them on the website...

Your Yorel is headed out, camera in hand. The theater where Yorel is headed is sold out. Anyway, pish-posh on his web site. The pictures are "Xanga fodder." More later.

UPDATE: AFTER THE SHOW REPORT

The live stage show was digitally projected into 350 theaters across the country.
The Yorel bunch headed out to the local theater where other friends and acquaintances were to be found.

Prior to the show beginning (at 6 pm), the Glenn Beck logo orbited on the screen

And just like when you go to the movies, there were trivia questions and ads. Here's a few trivia type items:

After being thus entertain, came the countdown.

With the last ten seconds came the sound of a beating heart.

...and the full house counting down!

What do you suppose he was speaking about here?

After intermission, he came back to campaign for president, or at least what we would like to hear from a candidate.
He called it Glenn Beck '08 - Unelectable. But everything he spoke on was simple common sense, something lacking in Washington.

He was a real crowd pleaser. Applause was frequent. A good time was had by all.

The end.

GEEX UNITE!

Over 10,000 people are expected to attend the big GEEX Expo at Salt Lake's Salt Palace this weekend. Are you into gaming? This is the place to be this weekend. See the story at http://www.deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,700243439,00.html From the story we read:

Utah certainly is a player in the video-game industry. A study released in November by the Entertainment Software Association indicated that the state's video-game industry grew by more than 32 percent from 2005 to 2006.

The state had eight game developers and two publishers at the time, employing 477 people, although more than 1,000 others were employed indirectly by companies providing products and services used by those publishers and developers. A current Web site lists 14 developers, publishers and industry organizations in Utah.

Your Yorel knows one video game professional. He worked on the successful Hannah Montana video game. Yorel teases him about that, but hey, you can't knock success. His next project is top secret. Learn more about the expo at http://www.geexshow.com/ Be a geek!

WHAT'S REALLY UP WITH THE OBAMA - NEW YORKER FLAP?

It's not the cover that is funny. Here we have a lefty-liberal leaning publication ostensibly trying to make light of how critics of Obama are supposedly caricaturing him. Oh really? Just who on the right, or in the opposition is doing that? That fact is that time after time questions about Obama's ethnicity or "blackness" have consistently come from the left.

Here's a very funny and brief editorial on the New Yorker cover art. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,383261,00.html

What's really funny here is that the New Yorker thought this satire to be funny. But is it? The only laughter coming from the right is the obsession the lefties have with how they think the opposition might try to characterize the Obamas. Shoot, the opposition doesn't need to stoop to such lame tactics. Indeed, McCain is going out of his way to be a nice guy. Too, nice. He is constantly throwing overboard his own supporters whenever they burp even the least politically incorrect or insensitive utterance.

No, the opposition does not need to stoop to such adolescent tactics. Obama can be handily beaten by a discussion of his positions. He is so wrong on so much, all one has to do is point out that this emperor has no clothes.

So what do you think? Should the New Yorker be taken to the Obama woodshed?

MORE OIL

President Bush, as usual, a little late to the party, lifted an executive ban on offshore oil drilling. It's a start, but the monkey is now on the back of Congress. They must now do the same, lift the drilling ban. Meanwhile, the do-nothing Democratic Congress is still calling people on the carpet to blame for high oil prices. Haven't they ever heard that when you point a finger at someone else, that there are three other fingers pointing back at yourself?

More oil in the marketplace means lower prices. Plain and simple. Supply and demand works in free nations. What don't these dummies in Washington get?
