| | Today's word is livid. As per Websters Dictionary, one meaning of the word livid is "very angry : ENRAGED <was livid at his son's disobedience>". Last night, at midnight, I was livid.
I had one class yesterday afternoon and work. I came home to a sick girlfriend in that horrible humidity right before a rainstorm where your clothes stick to you and your head gets light. I took a nap, picked up some dinner, and had my friend Ellie over to tell us about her camping trip. I checked my email about noon. I did not check it after 4:18, when the associate dean of the library school sent out this message: "
The instructor for L520 - Bibliographic Access and Control will not be able to teach the course this summer. We regret this late change, but will have to cancel the class (in which you were enrolled)." This is relevant because I was supposed to have L520 at 9 am this morning. Yes, that is less then a 24 hour notice that my class, which is a requirement, is cancelled.
And I found out about it at midnight, when after bringing Ellie home, I was heading to the CVS to buy more throat drops for my baby, and Ellie calls me saying "Oh my God, did you check your email?!?!?!". So here I am, at midnight, in the CVS, having to deal with the complete rescheduling of my summer session so I can still graduate in December as planned.
But oh, no, it gets better. There is another class I can take for that requirement and it is offered this summer. It's every Tuesday and Thursday night. Which is when I'm supposed to work at my lab job. Lovely. So I am online until 1 am, making sure that this class fufills the requirement, even though it is not on a topic that is as applicable to my career as the first class was, emailing both my employers saying I need to change my work hours, and trying to figure out when I can do my volunteering. Not to mention, I already bought and borrowed the books for the previous class and put all the assignments on my planner. Next step, finding white out. I didn't finish this until after 1 am and with Di being sick, I did not get much sleep.
So today's word is livid.
