Hei Numerous longstanding problems within our group were demonstrated through the game “Wheels”. Five large wooden wheels were connected by metal pipes to form a ‘truck’. Edwin and Hei mounted the two front wheels, Fox and伊云 mounted the two wheels in the middle row, Vivian mounted the wheel at the very back, and Win sat on a pipe near the back of the truck. The point of the game was for us to push our respective wheels forward in a controlled and coordinated manner so as to avoid falling off the wheels (if that happens, we have to start from the beginning), and to crush two metal cans using our wheels on our way to our destination. At the beginning, we lacked a leader and failed to move at the same time. Gradually, Edwin and Hei took charge and gave instructions. The people at the back could not see clearly what was going on at the front, and so became more and more withdrawn and did not give many suggestions. In our group, most people are not active in giving opinions, and Edwin is often forced to come up with ideas of his own. Afterwards, our group either bands his idea or decides to follow his lead. What is lacking is the process of discussion and modifying our ideas to make them work better. 3.2 Reflection: Low turn out rate of volunteers to monthly gatherings and services Gatherings are optional activities; it is understandable that some people prioritize other engagements above gatherings. Monthly gatherings may not be effective in keeping the group together because they might seem a bit meaningless when comparatively we are doing very little service. However, the low turn out rate to the services should not be tolerated. If we previously agree to attend an event, we must show up, otherwise the remaining few volunteers who do show up will be unable to manage the job that was originally meant for more people to do. 4. 報告事項 4.1 佐敦道官立小學 Three pupils attended the first session held on 8/11. In general, they were noisy, had poor concentration and were hard to handle, so a 1: 1 volunteer to pupil ratio needs to be maintained for future sessions. In fact, there were barely enough volunteers because only 3 showed up. From next time onwards, we must have at least 6 volunteers. Reminders: Whenever a pupil leaves the study room, he/she must be accompanied by a volunteer. At the end of the session, the pupil must be seen to be delivered to his/her parent safely. Session 2 will be held on 22/11. Vivian will be the contact person. Volunteers: 魚旦, Fox, Win, Edwin, Leon, Vivian, and Phyllis (and her friend, Amanda). Six pupils are expected. Session 3 will be held on 6/12. 阿莎 will be the contact person. Volunteers: Win, Fox and阿莎 so far.
