Every time I decide I should probably post something on here, I sit and wonder what I should write...and of course, nothing new comes to mind.

The run-down...

1. Still looking for a teaching job, though I am subbing and tutoring a couple days a week.

2. Still tired from my lack of sleep

3. I'm throwing Sarah a bridal shower on Saturday, so that should be fun...she gets married June 30th and I'm planning a bachelorette party of awesomeness with the other fine ladies.

4. Jim and I played frisbee the other day....warm day! Too bad it's getting cold again!

5. that is all....

Just a few updates...(Jon: or should I say "the median of several and a few" updates!!?!!)

Yay for Breaks!! Jim and I are going away for the weekend and I'm so excited! It will be really nice to have some peace and quiet so we can relax and recooperate from several weeks of busyness, being sick, and being around lots of people!

I was a sub for GRPS this past week which was the worst mistake ever!! I had such a horrible day and losing my voice was definitely NOT worth the extra $10 a day! The kids were so rude and mean the entire day! I was shocked by how misbehaved they ALL were! It definitely taught me a lesson...not to sub for them ever again! I'm beginning to get better, but my voice still cuts out every now and then.

Warm sunshine!! I've been somewhat taunted by the past few days of sunshine and somewhat warmer temperatures! It really makes me wish that spring were here!! I can only imagine what it would feel like sitting out in the sun on a beach, just soaking up the warm rays!! Mmmm!

My little brother is visiting me next week!! I'm really excited that I get to hang out with him, since I don't get to see him very much. He's such a funny kid! We'll probably play some video games together and make cookies or something.

Not much going on, so I'm sorry for the boring post...

1. Hired my sister to work as one of my student workers in the library.
2. Went to Battle Creek to visit the aunt
3. On Sunday, Jim and I visited Bedside Baptist w/ Pastor Pillow and Sister Sheets...yes, I'm a sinner!
4. Tried a new peach-glazed porkchop recipe! Very tasty!
5. Went to a meeting at Western Michigan University for information on their Master's of Social Work program...No decision, just looking!
6. Watched the classic movie "Ghost" with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore....yes!
7. Work, work, and more work....still looking for other work....
8. Finally, I realized that signing up for substitute teaching was a big waste of time and money since that job-market is pretty much gone too!
9. Oh...and one more thing, I had to cancel my beloved hair appointment with Colleen (who's amazing!) because my sister wants all her bridesmaids to grow their hair out long for her wedding!

I need a break! I'm totally sleep-deprived!

Sad day for me this weekend...Jimmy is going to be gone on a RD Retreat, so I won't get to see him tomorrow and most of Saturday...Boo Hoo!

So, I decided to go to visit my aunt Budgie. I'll leave tomorrow after work...maybe we will go shopping or something and I can use the rest of my Old Navy giftcard I got for Christmas!!

I would like to take this time to pause for a moment of silence for Loralie Gilmore, our beloved goldfish....

(insert moment of silence here...)

Loralie was a well loved and entertaining comet goldfish whose day consisted of circling the tank, eating air bubbles from the surface of the water, running into her reflection in the glass, and chasing herself in circles. This would continue for hours upon hours until we turned her light out and she finally decided to slow down (although, she never stopped)....Then, a terrible thing happened to her and she drowned herself when she swam into the plastic decorative plants and got wedged in so she couldn't escape. She will be missed until another fish comes along and we can replace her...Loralie leaves behind two sad human parents, Jim and Melissa, who will always remember the good ol' days of her existence!

Farewell Loralie Gilmore!

PS) Loralie, sorry we had to flush you down the toilet....it's pretty much the only funeral arrangements we could afford at this point in our lives. Please forgive us!

Thank goodness it's Friday!! I've only been back to work for 4 days and I'm so exhausted! I am pretty sure I could sleep through the entire weekend if I tried! Last night Jim and I went to a free screening of Hillary Swank's new movie "Freedom Writers" which is excellent! I definitely recommend it! Plus, it's based on a true story, so you can't go wrong with that!

Tonight Jim and I are going bowling and roller skating at midnight! I really like bowling, especially when tons of other NON-smoking friends are filling the place! It's going to be a J-term event that will be hoppin'! ...or should I say rollin'!

Since I can't seem to get a job, I've decided I should probably do some substitute teaching. I realize now that I'm not going to get anywhere in the teacher world if I don't get my name out there...apparently sending WELL over 150 resumes doesn't "get your name out there!" I might be able to work it out with the library that I can take a day or two a week to do some subbing. I just sent out two more resumes for a reading para-pro and an "education specialist" which was basically just another name for a tutor! I think it would be really great to have a job like that! So keep prayin'!

Well, that sums up what's been happening this past week....still very busy....need some sleep!

Since my younger sister's been engaged, I've been helping Sarah plan for the big day! She rolls her eyes and laughs as I hand her the 6 pages of single-spaced font filled with a list of things to do until the wedding! I have things nailed down to the tiniest detail....plus, it's organized into categories, and one category devoted solely to Grant's official duties!

We went to Bed Bath & Beyond the other day and I helped her register for wedding gifts. It's too bad that Grant is on the other side of the country because I basically made the decisions for Sarah, who, by the way, didn't seem to care what was clicked! In fact, she didn't even want to use the clicker! She basically was so overwhelmed that she let me click whatever I thought she would need! It was so fun....it was like re-registering all over again!!

Well, I will post pictures later of the spectular and creative train-set made entirely out of cake, frosting, and candy!! Woohoo for Quincer's Creative Dessert win!! I'm so proud of them! And YES, they did most of the work! I was merely there to assist and help them use the pastry bags full of icing!

This week Finals Week here at CU....it's odd, but I really wish I were taking a class so that I could study for a final! I know that sounds really weird to want to be back in school, but it's true! When I graduated I feel as though a piece of my identity just vanished. I was no longer a student, but someone wandering around aimlessly! I'm hoping to get my bearings straight and figure out what I want to do with my life...as far as a career is concerned.

Next week, Jim and I leave for Ohio for a few days during Christmas. I'm hoping that goes well. Plus, I'm really glad I'll get to see some old friends too. Jim and I are bringing our inflatable queen-sized air-mattress! It's going to be a back saver since it will be much better than the pull-out couch my mom has! There's nothing worse than a bad night's sleep with metal bars poking in your back, leaving you in pain the entire visit, not to mention the pain you endure during the drive home!

Well, I think I've exhausted my brain for now!
