| Quick updateWell the protest went well. For those of you who don't know, there was a nation wide protest yesterday. People all over the country met infront of their town's courthouse in a peaceful protest against Prop 8. I was surprised too. There were many more people there than I thought there would be. We had at least 150 at the peak of the protest. Many of us had signs, there were four women who formed a sort of drum squad. There were at least two news stations there as well. It was great fun. I can only hope that it helped move us forward to getting rid of Prop 8 in the future. Douglas | | |
| DisappointedWell, the election process is almost over. And I am over joyed that Obama has won. I hope that he will prove to be the needed president that we all feel we need. I look forward to where he will take this country. Both runners were good men and both had a lot to offer, making the choice a difficult one, but I believe the right man won.
However, my joy in the presidential election is over shadowed by the Proposition 8 decision in California. I am extremely disappointed in the way that turned out. I had really high hopes for California. They had gay marriage for a few months and were boosted by Connecticut also legalizing gay marriage. And though, Connecticut has not gone back on its decision, I can feel only a slight happiness about it now that California has changed its mind. And that makes me very sad.
I know that my opinion does not matter to much in the grand scheme of things. I am small compared to the rest of the world. And my readers on here are but a pitiful number compared to other blogs, papers, and other media forms.
None the less, I urge and bed and plead that if this decision every comes to your town, you will vote yes and give these couples the right that they have earned by simply being a member of the human race equality. | | |
| !!!!!!!!!!!!!My RA just came by my room to drop off.....MY BRACELET! Apparently it's been sitting in the lost and found box in Stewart. I live in Shalom. But the village buildings are so small that they have a community box in the largest dorm close to us apparently. I didn't even think to look in the lost and found of a different dorm. The RD for this group of buildings (Shalom, Boppel, Stewert, Keola, and Akili) found it in the lost and found and put my initials DG with the link that says Army Brat and sent if over. Thank you Landon and Tim. Thank you. | | |
| LOST| Lost Bracelet | All Whitworth People Who Read This: I've lost my bracelet. It is a SILVER ITALIAN CHARM BRACELET. This bracelet means a great deal to me. Many of the links on it came from members of my swim team. Two links came from my parents a couple Christmases ago. There are two links on it that have my initials, DG. I believe that it came off on campus in the grassy area between Stewart, the Village, and the parking lot but I'm not 100% sure. I am willing to offer a reward for it. It means a great deal to me, a great deal. If anyone sees it, please let me know. Swimdude207@yahoo.com Douglas |

| School ExtremesWell, I've found another one. Genetics. Althought it isn't exactly the same. Genetics and Physics are equal in difficulty. They are equal in time consumption. And they are equal in amount of work. However, while Physics is the proof that Satan exists. Genetics is the proof of God. | | |
