  • so here's the update

Summer is about to end and i'm in college over in cali. Living in Oakland isn't so bad since it's rockridge which is kind of like bayside or the upper east side of new york. walking to the BART (it's kind of like the metronorth but cleaner) is about a 20 minute walk and probably my only means of public transportation into san franscico besides the shuttle bus to the san fran campus. Yeah there really isn't much to do in Oakland where i live besides eat out at the local restuarants, lol hang out at safe way (supermarket) and just hang out in the dorm or the lounge.
the school body consists of 60% girls and 30% guys, surprising my circle of frie, nds that i hang out with are girls lol. the guys here are kind of weird, they're either foreign exchange students who stick with they're native language, gothic or guys that are always high and do really stupid stuff and by the way, more then half of that 30% guy student body do smoke. it was just really insane on how many people i saw smoking when i got here, yeah i don't mind smokers at all but hell they smoke in groups of 8 or 9 people and majority do chain smoke. eh at least i found a group of girls to hang out with and i made a few guy friends so that's ok. To the girls i am their biotch, they're pimp and the really cool guy. yeah yeah don't worry they're all in relationship and no! i am not cheating on my misses, i'm faithful =].

For those of you wondering what i've been up to this summer well here's the update. Besides randomly bumping into people while in the city with the misses which was always something good to do. For the most part i've just been working on my portfolio to transfer back to FIT in new york and yes it is done, i just have to mail in the application. I'd do SVA too but tuition isn't much of a difference from CCA. Spent the 2nd to last week before left in canada visiting my grandparents trying to get wise words of wisdom and i guess you can call it their blessing or their approval of me going off to such a far place. That week was pretty fun neglecting the part that i couldn't sleep a wink while i was their since the mattress i was on felt like i sleeping on cardboard. They have this thing called the EX where it's like the canadian exhibition and it's just this one big fair or convention. Got some pretty cool stuff, all free by the way lol. My relatives live in this part of Toronto where the majority of the community consists of asian people. lol it's even bigger then the amount of asian people you see in Chinatown or Flushing. Since they got all these market malls and this one big mall called Pacifica mall where all the asian people like to go to.

The weekend before i left for Canada i was at the Hot Import Night Nightshift event. i got in for free and the day before the thing happened i was a volunteer and got to drive the SWEET Subaru, lol you'd think those cars would be fully loaded with stuff on the inside but the thing don't even have a radio or sound system or side panels in the door lol (just goes to show it's just for show). Got to meet the models while me and this guy alex from jersey were cleaning out the model's trailer and i got one word to say....DDDDAAAAAMMMNNN! lol. they're pretty nice but i wouldn't want to be in a relationship with one. Got to meet loyd banks backstage and i brought 2 of my friends along for free. I think the show stopper car at the show was the lotus, i just couldn't believe someone in ny actually owns a lotus (they had a skyline too but the lotus is a lot better). the show was alright for its first time in nyc but the one in boston and jersey are a lot better.

OCM had thrown a senior party for all seniors going off to college. thanks guys! i put up the pirate card and the most likely award on my wall. i'll be back in the winter but i doubt i'll be going to retreat.

Well classes are going to start on tuesday and after tomorrow, i have a 4 day weekend to get some clothes, meet more people, and get into the college mood.
Don't forget to mail me stuff guys lol. i'm dying of boredom in Oakland.

  • Currently Listening: For You I Will
    - for you i will

the journey started on june 30th 1988

high school is finally over and speaking for the class of '06 thank god.
it's weird, maybe it's just for the moment but i can't really remember the things i actually learned in class but i know it and i just keep focusing in on the memories and gatherings i had this year with people. most definitely i had several laughs with my friends and also a lot of tears i didn't show to people this year but i did have tears. i keep looking through the yearbook and all the signatures and messages you guys left me and all the fun times we had flash by in my head. sorry to sound sappy but i guess it's a given, afterall we graduated and we're on different paths but we'll probably meet again in cancun, new york, lol tokyo or cali.

so i turned 18 and right off the bat i had more responsibility and access to more things. lol i bought my first lottery ticket, did my very first drive unsupervised to go paintball in a "restricted" field upstate, applied for my own credit card so i can finally stop asking my folks for money and i had to kick my butt out the door to find a job lol.

With all this free time this summer i decided to have some indepth reflection and make some plans...well trying to plan out what i'll be up to for the next year or so. currently i am engulfed in about 3 art pieces at one time trying to make up for the lost time and get my portfolio going. i've just been spending a lot of time with myself wondering about what i should really do with myself. lately when i've been walking through manhattan i realized that new york isn't the same. it just seems like the city is degenerating. i know it's not everywhere in the city but it spreads and travels. whatever happened to the good old days when people weren't afraid of going out and coming back home at 11 or 12 at night? when kids didn't have to run away from a public park because someone got shot? when people didn't have to jump off buildings because money didn't matter to them?
people have their own problems and situations going on but they don't have to involve other people, especially people they don't know and drag them down with them.

everyone keeps asking me what have you been up to tony tan? i haven't seen you in awhile. i've been pulling myself together, strengthening family ties, having my personal time to reflect, doing my art work, uh...besides that i haven't been really hanging out much, lol and you guys think i'm always busy, you just catch me at the worst times lol.

maybe a year away from home will change things. so i've been trying to see what amtrak had to offer me lol. traveling from san fran by amtrak is pretty cool actually. now that i got my class schedule with a 3 day weekend i can probably go down to la and visit my friends there or up to sacremento and stockton so i won't be that lonely. i still have to shop for some stuff, mainly bathroom and hygiene stuff. i really can't buy stuff until the school sends me my roommate and room number. kind of pointless if me and my roommate brought 2 fans or 2 tv's.

on another note, there will be a hot import night car event in flushing at shea stadium on aug 12th. hin nightshift flyers and discounts can be acquired by me so just call me or leave a comment. oh and tell your friends about it too.

and here are a few pic's to update you guys:

prom night was cool hanging with my homie jacek

over at my cousin's place in jersey celebrating my birthday early with my grandma shoving fruit in my mouth

graduation day...it was happy yet sad at the same time.

from left to right and top to bottom: my cousin terry who's my age, me, amanda, winson, cody holding his brother jaden, my brother andy, grumpy sammy, marvelous angie lol, my little sister amy and my adorable cousin amber the flower girl.
