How Lion King Changed My Life!

So I get back from my "working out" (it's more like walking the bear trail because I'm too out of shape to acutally jog it) and I decide to go and get lunch which was soup and salad coupled with two bagels because I've dipping those in my soup, it's delicious. I get back to my dorm room and I decide to pop in a movie because food and study doesn't go so well together. I press play on my dvd player and find that Lion King was in there and was at the part where Simba is about to go the Elephant Graveyard and I'm paying more attention to my food and laptop than the movie and then I catch the scene where Mufasa dies and I cry. I actually cry, I don't cry during movies, I'm not Kelsey (if you don't know she cried during the Pacifier). While watching it, I just starting thinking about my dad and how I haven't seen him since Sunday which is a really long time for me and how much it would break my heart if he died and it made the emotiosn that Simba felt when he saw his dad fall all that more real to me. Then when he goes down to see if Mufasa's dead Scar meets up with him and basically tells Simba it's all his fault and what will his mother think and that he should run away and never come back. What if somone that close to you blamed you for your dad's death, wouldn't you be devastated, I know I would.

Well, the part I'm getting to is that later I did my quiet time and it was about prayer and it referenced the scripture where Jesus refers to God as "Abba, father" and basically abba is a really personal term for dad, sort of like saying daddy, and it asked if I was comfortable enough to call God daddy and I checked yes but then I realized that I'm really not. It's so hard to put God before my earthly father, because my earthly father is right there smack in my face and God is something that I have to see, and want to love. It's just a hard concept for me to grasp God as father, I'll claim me don't worry calling him My God, my Lord and what not but never making him as personal as daddy... that's when I thought about Lion King and the emotion I felt during that scene and wondered if I would feel that kind of emotion for my Abba Father, and I don't have the answer to the question but someday I hope to be able to say yes. :)
