winter-dawn-focal-thumbnail Featuring earthtone patterns in brown, beige, tan, and mauve, Paintbrush Jasper is a testament to the finest artist in the universe:  Mother Nature!  Paintbrush Jasper goes by several other names, including Artistic Jasper and Crazy Horse Stone.  It is actually a limestone-type material mined in China.  This week Deerkiss Hollow Jewelry is offering Paintbrush Jasper necklace and earring sets on sale for under $50.  And shipping and handling is FREE through midnight EST Tuesday, September 23rd!

Just feast your eyes on these one-of-a-kind pendants!  The set at upper left is called "Winter Dawn" because it looks like two pine trees on a winter morning.rocks-afloat-focal-thumbnail

You can be guaranteed to have a unique, handcrafted necklace and earring set owned  by no one else in the world.  That is because the patterns on this stone can never be duplicated.  Each stone is coated with resin to make it last.  To see the full necklace and also the matching earrings, just click on the photos!  I thought the pattern on the pendant at right looked like floating stones, so I've named it "Rocks Afloat"!

mystical-mauve-focal And here's another example of the mauve tones often found in this stone, so much so that I've named it "Mystical Mauve".

You can see two of these sets in the entry below for March 9, 2008, but please don't click on the photos because you won't get the sale prices!  You can get the sale prices only by clicking on the pendant photos or by visiting www.deerkisshollowjewelry.com/autumn-sale.htm.

Also on sale are sets of Rhodonite (a dusty rose stone) with pearls, Red Coral, and deep Carnelian, adorned with Vermeil and Gold-filled beads.

And shipping and handling are FREE through midnight Tuesday, September 23rd.  Don't miss this opportunity to get your one-of-a-kind gemstone set while it is still available!

  • Winter -- Only 12 Days Left!

Winter is squeaking by, and I have been in a panic getting my hand-made, winter-colored jewelry onto my website.  All of my pieces are sets of necklaces and earrings to match.  Yesterday I uploaded my Black Onyx set, and just tonight I finished uploading my final two brown sets.  They are both in Crazy Horse Stone (see previous posts for others in Crazy Horse Stone or you can click here to see them all).  This stone is sometimes called Red Apache Jasper or Red Picture Jasper.  Whatever it is, this stone is truly captivating, especially for a truly earthy, yet elegant, look.

The sets are named "Rocks Afloat" and "Winter Dawn".  Yikes!  Winter Dawn!  Now you can see why I've been panicking.  Doesn't sound very spring-like, does it?

Whenever I go into a store during the winter, I see racks and racks of dark brown clothing.  So I decided last fall, after the craft shows were over, to embark on a "brown jewelry project".  Since then, I've made seven brown sets, but it's taken me all this time to photograph and upload them.  Please see previous posts for some of the sets, or you can click here to see all of them.

So here's "Rocks Afloat".  The background on the pendant is a medium mauve, and the "rocks", which look like they're floating, are a reddish-brown -- maybe sort of like a burnt sienna?  You can click on the photo to see closeups of the pendant and earrings.

And here's "Winter Dawn".  The photography was very tricky because I kept getting glare on the bottom of the pendant, obliterating what I think look like two fir trees on a winter's morning.  The angle of the lighting was highly critical.  I finally had to tilt my light stand at a 40-degree angle toward the jewelry and hold it there while taking the picture.  Very dangerous because they are halogen lights and extremely hot!  Again, you can click on the photo to see enlarged photos of the pendant and earrings:

Well, I'm finally finished with the winter jewelry.  I have a lot of work ahead of me, however.  Three Fire Agate sets and a Turquoise set are on my computer, ready to be resized and put on web pages.  Plus I have a Green Aventurine set that is not yet up, a piece that many people have admired, with a carved leaf pendant.  But that will have to wait until later, after the jewelry party on the 16th and after I get it together with my tax returns.

Taking this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day and don't forget to turn your clocks forward this weekend!

  • The Benefits of Wearing Brown

Does your workaday world call for more efficiency?  Do you find yourself spinning your wheels while trying to accomplish things at your job?  If the answer is yes, perhaps you need to wear more brown.  Brown is the color of practicality and accomplishing things on the physical plane.  Brown hues serve to "ground" those of who have a tendency to go off on tangents, preventing us from getting things done.  They center us on the task at hand and help us produce on material results.

Adorn yourself with Brown!  From reddish-brown to mahoghany to an almost burgundy brown, these pendant necklaces will help bring you down to earth so that you can produce the results that are demanded of you.

This necklace is made of a gemstone called "Red Tiger Eye", which is regular Tiger Eye that has been heat-treated to produce the warm orangish brown hue that will energize you toward your accomplishments.  Clicking on the photo will take you to the full necklace and closeup of its matching earrings.

Another necklace and earring set of much the same color, except highlighted with a few streaks of black, is "AGATE DREAM".  The oval pendant is genuine "Dream Agate", in a beautiful tortoise shell color, glossy and translucent.  Dream Agate is sometimes billed as Brown Carnelian or Zebra Onyx.  You can see that the round beads on either side of the pendant are Red Tiger Eye.  Just click the photo to see other closeups of this necklace and earring set:

The following necklace is made of "Crazy Horse Stone".  This set is one-of-a-kind, never again to be duplicated.  This stone displays its own unusual pattern, making it unique.  This set is called "BROWN ANGEL" because the pattern on the pendant looks like a brown angel!  The necklace and matching earrings are finished with genuine Sterling Silver with an extender chain and lobster claw clasp for an adjustable length:

Hurry!  These genuine gemstone necklace and earring sets are one of a kind.  Once a set is sold, it will no longer be available.  To see all 6 brown gemstone sets, just go to http://www.deerkisshollowjewelry.com/brownjewelry.htm

  • Red Tiger Eye Gemstone Necklace and Matching Earrings

Tonight I added a Red Tiger Eye necklace and earring set to my website.  It is called "Ravishing Red Tiger Eye", and I created it in November 2007:

    ravishing-red-tiger-eye

Red Tiger Eye is regular Tiger Eye that has been heated to produce the warm brown color with orangish highlights.  As you can see, it is quite chatoyant and truly beautiful!  All stones in this necklace are Red Tiger Eye, with the two on either side of the pendant being faceted rondelles.  The pendant is topped by a delicate antique gold finished leaf style beadcap, and a corrugated gold finished brass bead, others of which are in the body of the necklace.  The earring wires are fishhook style and gold filled.  To see close-ups of this set, go to:  http://www.deerkisshollowjewelry.com/ravishing-red-tiger-eye.htm.
