| Broken GlassI found this quote from a famous burglar and convicted murder from the 1800's named Charlie Peace. As Peace was lead to the gallows to face his execution the prison chaplain walked in front of the procession reciting the "Consolations of Religion." As Peace heard these scripture verses about Hell he thought that it was odd that another human could read those proclamations and be dry eyed about it. He turned the chaplain and said:
"Sir,"
addressing the preacher, "if I believed what you and the church of God say that you believe, even if England
were covered with broken glass from coast to coast, I would walk over it, if
need be, on hands and knees and think it worthwhile living, just to save one
soul from an eternal hell like that!”
This story is amazing. Here this guy who is not even a believer sees that If Hell is real it should motivate us and move us emotionally. I pray that it does that for you.

| Screeching HaltHave you ever pondered what happens when something large that is moving fast has to make an abrupt stop? That has been what this past semester has been like. As we approach the stop sign I'm not real sure how it is going to work out. It is hard to believe that it all but over. Where did autumn go? It is already a week from Christmas. Which also means it is less than a week till my birthday. It seems like I just had one. After twenty-five years of life you would think that I could get my self dressed. This next year I need to work on being more like a navy seal and less like a lazy sloth. I really need to utilize my time better. Any how...
I hope this Christmas season finds you well. I pray that you keep Christ in the focus of this Christmas season. Without the salvation that the was provided through the birth, life, death and glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ all we are doing is sticking lights on a dead tree. The true point of this season is the hope that the baby in the manger provided. Don't let the busyness of the season or the lights and wrapping paper distract you from seeing that this changed everything!
Sam
