| Back in town...I'm back in town. I've been back since June 22nd.
I think that Michelle, in particular, would appreciate this:
That is all.

| Greetings from Hong Kong. I am using internet from next door. I love me some wi-fi. |

| A Storied Career.There's a lesser known b-side from Paul McCartney's storied solo career.
They call this b-side "Yvonne," and it is magnificent. |

| Updating here and there.Dear all,
I figure that, since this is the only way I can stay in touch with some of you, I best update.
I am doing well. I hope the same goes for all of you. I've been living in my own little world for the past couple of weeks (some may argue months) and for good reason. THE FUTURE has been occupying most of my time, and things are finally winding down, more or less. I am graduating in a matter of days; it will be a private affair with family and friends in the Classics Department. I can safely say that it will also be beautiful. (How can it not be? My robe makes me look like a cross between a linebacker and a federal judge. Don't like the verdict? Prepare to be destroyed by a 300-lb football player!)
After academia has its last laugh on the 17th, I'll have 5 days of American bliss before I join two other Lis for a month of Hong Kong bliss. I will spend as much time as humanly possible absorbing relatives, humidity, air pollution, and $10 HK bowls of wonton noodle soup. Let's not forget the near-730 days of 100% Cantonese speaking that have been backed up in my system. (I swear to Jesus, if I don't get to speak all Cantonese to people other than my parents soon, I will explode. I love that language so much.) Even if I never realize the dream of residing in my hometown, I can at least deceive myself for 31 days.
I will return in late June, and from June up until the beginning of August, I will do absolutely NOTHING. NOTHING but things that bring me pleasure and chocolate chip ice cream. I will hang out with friends, write, read more silver screen star biographies, paint, knit, drive, cook for people I love, love. I will do it all. I must, because come August, all that freedom will be a thing of the past. With August comes law school! This was The Future I was talking about. So far, I haven't decided whether I will be in Sacramento or San Francisco, but I can assure you that the truth will be revealed by August.
AUGUST. It's a month of truth. Of veridical things. Over and out. |
