The greatest evil is the lack of love and charity, the terrible indifference towards one assaulted by exploitation, corruption, poverty and disease” Mother Teresa

Work Confrontations continue for the fourth straight day. Life is just absolutely wonderful.. would you say?

Looking back at what had been discussed, I have no other reactions other than laughers.

Not sure where to begin, so much have happened since the last entry.  I will try to make this as informative as possible without spilling over to the next page.

Family

  • Brian (my older brother) is getting married on 9/7/08 and the guest list is getting longer and longer. I’m glad that I am not needed for any of the planning so far – I’d literally be too busy pulling my hair out that nothing will get accomplished.
  • Will be furniture shopping for our new home. I saw the blueprint of the house and immediately marked my territory. It’s actually the smallest room in the house, but as a trade off, I have a private exit door to the porch, backyard, and driveway --- do I need to say more?

Career

  • Still waiting for my promotion to kick in. This is the second promotion in the past 12 months,  I am pleased with the rate of progression.
  • Still interviewing candidates to be of my caliber while I continue to drown

Health

  • I was introduced to bikram yoga few months ago by Florence and I absolutely love it. It’s the best workout method I’ve ever tried so far.  Will stuck with it since I was very willingly to pay $825 for 75 sessions. I plan to stay as fit as possible and shed those 7 Ibs I gained over the holidays (well, I hope those are muscle mass that I gained as a result of bikram yoga)
  • Aside from keeping a routine yoga schedule--- I will probably bike this summer especially when Ray is such a biker. And of course, tennis – my summer sport. I haven’t snowboard as much as I wanted this season due to work and school, but I will try to pick it up again after January when things slow down a bit

Love

  • HA.. For once, I am not leaving this column blank. So Ray came into my life… quite unexpected….and everything beings to unfold unexpectedly.   Things are good with us. We look forward to building a stronger relationship and working toward what we want.
  • Yeah, I can’t believe I am saying this either, but I’ve graduated from the status of being single. Believe me, I loved it while it lasted. I was really happy and appreciative of all the attentions that I had gotten for being single. I am glad that I lived my single life to the fullness; waving goodbye to the past two years and welcoming a very exciting chapter (also a bit nerve racking) of my life. And now, I am very appreciative of all the attentions that I get for being exclusively involved and all from one person.

Wealth

  • I won’t be having any. Not even a third promotion can leverage off the foreseeable expenses accrued at the end of the year.  However, Ray and I do have a very tangible plan in place and will take about two years to secure.
  • Unlike other years, this year is not about saving. I’d be content if I can keep my pace just a step ahead from falling into the black hole. With that said, this year is all about earning

Travel

  • How can I leave this out? Here are the upcoming travel plans:

First week of Feb- Tahiti, French Polynesian Islands of the Pacific

Last week of Feb- VT – Snowboarding

Tentative- Late Summer/Fall – Mt. Rushmore/ Canyoneering

Tentative- Early 2009 –Peru or Costa Rica/ Sweden

School

  • Why do I even bother bringing this up? Yes, I am still working on my thesis and  Yes it will get done.

So as you can see, there are enormous responsibilities lying ahead. That’s it for now.

Love you all and wishing you a wonderful and prosperous new year.

THE MISSING PIECE

3 months into my new position, and I just recently learned the most valuable piece of information there is to know at work… - yep.. You guessed correctly alright------ It’s office romance. Boy, am I naïve? I had an-one hour summary recap ( like I have time  to spare at work, but this kind of information is more important that the front page news on any newspaper) of all the dirtiest, scandal-est, and most unthinkable hookups you can ever imagine with the people I see daily at work. If you think your childhood 90210 hookups among your circle of friends were bad, this is far worst. I sensed chills going down my spine as the names of each new pair were mentioned, and each new one is worst that the previous pair.

Now this information is resourceful when I need to pair up teams, delegate tasks and many more…. AND you wonder why this topic of office romance came above.----something creepy is happening at work, things that mysteriously appeared on my desk ( e.g. snacks, water bottles).. I am nervous…. did I mention I am nervous?  And just an extra cherry on the icing… my buddies at work are laughing at me and actually question whether I was institutionized in a female boarding school all my life if all these signs were not obvious enough.

Did I say I am nervous? I am afraid to open my office door upon returning from wherever I was going.

Sheila is totally bossing me around right now. She is lovely when you are around her. I just hope she doesn't bark too violently when she is left home alone. Or else she is going back to ASPCA. I am fostering her for the next week or so. She is also waiting to be adopted if anyone is interested.

This is Sheila
