Thanks to the following people for donating to me: Connie Tan William Yu Chris Nguyen Anthony Nguyen Tara Guilfoil Hang Do Vu Mai Cecilia Carrillo Johnny Rau Leeja Patel Benjamin Yim Lien Trinh

And now, would you like to help me raise money for UNICAMP?? So, are you wondering what it is?? well, i will be a counselor for kids for a week in the summer. the kids come from low-income, underprivileged families in the watts/compton area. unicamp is THE official student charity of UCLA. every year, the program takes over 1,000 children to camp. i will be training all quarter for it. i'm very excited to be a part of this!
on may 5-7, we will be having a camp-a-thon fundraising event. now, that is where you come in. :o) i'm currently raising money to support unicamp (since the campers aren't paying for all the expenses of camp). my personal goal is $586...thats a lot of money...so please help me in my efforts. i'm trying to reach the goal...a little at a time. ANY amount is greatly appreciated. it would make me very happy...and more importantly, the kids will be very happy to get to go to camp this summer! do it for the kids!! :D how do you donate?? either give me cash or check donations...or even easier... make a donation with credit card here. please please help me raise money! THANKS!
session deuce love, seashell <--that's my unicamp name

SENIOR YEAR! wow!
Crazy how fast it is going by!! :-o I can't even believe it. I've been super busy with all kinds of stuff. VNLC (www.vnlc.org) & CSC (www.usaccsc.org) retreats were great...I loveee working with all these wonderful people. BruinLife (www.bruinlife.com) is now in full effect (well it has been because of First Year Book).
i <3 vnlc staff. you are all wonderful...and fun too!
since i didn't go to past csc retreats during the summer, it was nice meeting a lot of new people (and getting to know others better). yay for csc!
Oh, and yay...looked into what classes i have left to take...yay only 6 more classes, so i WILL be done by spring quarter. But then again, do I really want to finish?? What will I do after?? Booohoo...don't wanna leave this place!! i love ucla way too much!
And yay for ucla football -- #8(ap)/#9(usa today)!! The game yesterday was sooo stressful...but yay for winning. I was sooo excited after!! go ucla!! (sad that i didn't get ucla vs. usc tickets though...they sold out. BOOOO!! someone find me tickets!!)
And now, I would like to tell you about an event that I (as programs director of csc), along with a wonderful planning committee, have been working really hard on!
And, if you are my friend, I hope to see you register, and come!!
The Community Service Commission at UCLA presents...
COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY '05! Saturday, November 5, 2005
Hundreds of students will come together for a grand day of service to the community! We will provide bus transportation to locations all across LA where students will get the opportunity to help the Los Angeles community by going to homeless shelters, animal shelters, doing beach clean-up, and more! All volunteers receive a free breakfast, lunch, and t-shirt!

Registration and details at http://csday.usaccsc.org!
Please register! :o) You would make me very happy. But seriously though, I think its a really great event, and it shows that ucla students really do care about community service. We can make a difference in LA!
Oh, and this year, there is a new thing called group registration where you get your organization together and sign up as a team. So, if you are in any clubs, live in the dorms, or are in a sorority/fraternity, get your group together and sign up as a team! Prizes for largest groups! Details are online.
Lights, Service, Action!
There are sooo many other things I want to post about/post up pictures of, but those will have to wait until next time. I have lots of things to do. Some pictures are updated on my smugmug, so go there to see pics! Ok, bye!

Remember to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina!! All the pictures I see are all so sad. So many people's lives have been ruined by this natural disaster. Props to those that have travelled all the way from California to the states with hurricane evacuees! Amazing work you are all doing. I admire your dedication so much. Such good people. It makes me happy to think that there are people that are willing to go to such great lengths to help. Good luck to all!
You can help by donating to www.redcross.org!

Some thoughts... I'm going back to school in a little over a week. I'm excited to go back to LA to begin my SENIOR year in college. Crazy how fast its all gone by!! I can't believe its almost over...I don't want it to end! Who wants to go out to the real world?? Not me! Oh...and I'm almost 21!! YAY! Can't wait! About a month and a half left... It feels like I've waited forever...everyone that's a senior seems to have turned 21 already!
You know, this summer, thinking back, I can't even remember relaxing. I mean its not like I was stressed or anything, but I just never had a day at home with nothing to do. Even traveling isn't really relaxing, cause its doing something. And of course, when school begins that'll never be the case...not having anything to do. But I'm not complaining...I've had an amazing summer. I can easily say...one of the best summers of my life!
I need to figure out what the hell I want to do with my life! Well, first off, I know I'm definitely taking a year off cause I'm not even thinking about applying to grad school yet. Hopefully after I graduate, I'll find a job and then start planning more schooling? And then think about whether I want to take the LSAT or GRE?? I'm highly considering law school again. Gotta make a decision...soon! And I was talking to Christine today (my cousin) and she's in Ireland for the quarter and is having an amazing time...and she was talking about all the people she met from around the world! Then it made me jealous and it made me really really wanna go back to europe, but this time, study at a university and live with the locals or people from all over the world. Something different than my travel study program this year where it was mostly UCLA students. I am going to have to figure it all out and see if I can take some class next fall and be there for the quarter (taking whatever classes) since I will probably be done with all my classes already. I loveeeee traveling. I seriously think I'm obsessed. Someone give me a million bucks so I can travel the world. No, really, please?? Any takers?? haha...
I'm in the process of planning Community Service Day '05, presented by the Community Service Commission, at UCLA (I'm the CSC Programs Director this year). Its a lot of fun planning it...lots of work...but lots of fun. It will be November 5, 2005, so save the date!! :o) I want you alllll to be a part of it. Once school begins, you'll definitely start hearing more about it...we have a massive publicity campaign! But yeah, its a day where many many UCLA students come together and we provide bus transportation to many locations around LA where they will be serving the community in many different ways. It'll be fun and I just really want everyone to be a part of this and do service to the community, and hopefully continue doing it thereafter. We want to show everyone that students can make a difference! I am working on the website...so I will post the link once that's done.
And VNLC's hearing was last week. I'm glad its over...CAC proposal stuff is finally done with. I think it went really well. Thanks so much to all staff that came out! :o) Hopefully we get all the money we requested...*sigh...we really really need it!
And finally...here are some pictures from the yearbook conference in Seattle (which I might add was all expenses paid for which is always nice). It was fun hanging out with the other editors...and I learned a lot too. It was great exploring Seattle. Our hotel was in a wonderful location too...right in the heart of downtown.
*seattle, washington* August 24-28, 2005
grrr...i still don't have my camera back. i hateeee not having a camera. so many times i wanted to take pictures, but couldn't. booohooo. it better come soooon!! today i had cheesecake factory for lunch! paid for by the company. wooohoo. :o) tomorrow there's a BBQ for lunch. yesterday the cousins had a going away dinner at Buca di Beppos...so much food but we basically finished it! gosh...i really love food...good food!!

And then I came across the group picture...and it inspired me to post up a few pictures from the program. So here you go!! Oh, how I miss Europe!!
