In Christ Alone

I love this song and it resonated with me alot yesterday at a morning church service so I thought I would share.
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost it’s grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Brought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand

Zachary is Back-ary

The Hiatus is over, the cold is gone. Enough sleeping has occurred for an explanation.
First things first.

Q: Where is the Foster Project?

A:
Good question. When I was drawing for the Foster Project my intent was to draw for the sake of drawing. Whether these drawings be ideas, thoughts, soul echos, or just an act to spur on creativity within my own brain. What the drawings actually became over time was not drawing for its own sake, but drawing for an audience. I am aware I was always drawing for an audience by posting them here and flickr, but there was a transition along the way to accommodate the audience, and draw something that I thought would spur on comments or recognition…it wasn’t intentional, and it took some chatting with a few wonderful people to realize this. I was editing/censoring my own drawings and that wasn’t what I wanted to be doing. It became a chore to do rather than something that was good for the soul, and for these reasons I took a hiatus.

Q: So what is going to happen to the Foster Project?

A: The Foster Project is something I want to keep around, as for right now I would like to continue the 30 days of drawing from where I stopped. This will begin as soon as I get a new moleskine sketchbook, which should be tomorrow. I make no promises as to starting tomorrow however, and with these next 15 drawings I will try and be consistent with days, but if I haven’t done a drawing for a day, I won’t be staying up an additional 2 hours to draw and post it for that day. That would be silly, and I am against all silliness*
Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your digital love and actual love.

This semester has been stretching me in new ways I would have never realized and more and more I am thankful for the people that have been placed in my life and I cannot attest more to the greatness of Gods provision.

Thoughts on the Foster

1. I’m about to do #15, half way there
2. Most days have been drawn at 2am
3. It’s been good for the soul and mind
4. My moleskine is nearly full up
5. I have wonderful friends who send digital love (thanks!)
