| So whats up Xanga
I know i haven't really been updating this, but i figure i have some time so i might do just that. I leave again for boston at the end of this month. September first i move into my very own apartment, shared with two of my best friends out there Ryan Cook, Chanterelle Butler, and one of their friends from high school who is transferring to emerson this semester Liz Marshall. I haven't met liz yet but Ryan and Chanterelle tell me she is awesome. It is the first apartment i wanted in boston and we got it. It is in downtown boston, in a neighborhood called bay village. Right between copley square, the theatre district, china town and south boston. I really like the fact that unlike alot of other people at emerson who have to take the subway 30 mins each morning i can take a short five min. walk to emersons campus. I'm planning on do more stage performance. I really missed that last year being a techie and all and i think its time to get back on the horse after and one and a half year break of being onstage. I will also still have me job at emerson stage as the run crew coordinator which will give me a decent flow of cash. I'm really looking forward to being virtually emancipated after 19 sum years of dependance. It also bring some other questions in terms of how often from now on i will be back in grand rapids. Chances are quite strong i will not be back for more then a week or two next summer if i get a job out in boston. Since my lease is for a full year i probably will prefer not to sublett next summer just for the ease of not having to do all the paperwork. But then again who knows. I know there are some people out there i haven't really had the chance to see as much as i would have liked this summer. It saddens me but then again i guess thats just life and growing up. Call me if you want to hang out, chances are good i'll be working hard untill the day i leave but i would love to make some time to hang out with those i haven't seen much. Thats that for now, untill later Peace -Zack | | |
| 6 More Days I SaysWell, six more days and I will be officially done with my freshman year of college. Six more days and I will also be back in Grand Rapids. It's such an odd feeling of accomplishment. I truly loved each and every day I have been at Emerson, that is why it is so hard for me to leave for the summer. I'll miss my friends here. But i will be back in GR for the summer. I have missed so many of my friends from GR while i have been here. Attitudes are so much different in Boston, a different i have grown to love, but i also love the simplicity of life in the midwest. During the summer there will be no more late night drunken taxi rides back to the dorm from Allston and Brookline. No more hopping on the T (the subway) to go to friends apartments. No more random trips to the North End (Little Italy). No more walks on the Charles River Esplanade. No more trips to Harvard Square or Chambridge. No more Boston for the summer. When i come back so much will be different. I will have my own apartment, i will be able to truly emancipate myself. I can't wait.
However above all of this i can't wait to get back to GR and see everyone i have missed. I can't wait.
