Ah, Indiana!

We got here fine about 2 weeks ago now.  My parents don't have internet at home, so I only check it at my inlaws or my Dad's office.  So far everything here is going well.  It is interesting to be with Grandma so much.  Often I'm helping her to the bathroom and other things.  My parents are going on a two day trip next week and so I have to sleep in her room and help her all night.  I'm not looking forward to that...but ah well.

I'm looking for a job still...and so is Landon.  I had an interview that went well, but they picked someone else.  I just am hoping something comes soon.  We are spending the rest of our cash on insurance today.  We are waiting on our rent deposit back...which should be about $300.  Then we have to pay my school bill...and at some point register our cars here and get new licenses (which we just paid in October in FL).  Hopefully we get tax money back too.  We will have a bill to pay from moving here (gas and food...the rest was on our bank card and is done).  Our bills are my main concern now...then save $500-$1000 (not including a deposit) and get a place to live...hopefully rent a house instead of apartment.  Its crazy and stressful...but for the most part good.

Well, other than that we are having having fun being with friends that live here.  It is nice to finally feel that we have people to hang with.  I better go...Landon is saying we need to leave.

A week and a half to go!

The move is set to take place on February 26th...just a week and a half away!  It is crazy that it is coming so fast now!  Landon and I have been packing up the apartment...primarily pictures and kitchen stuff so far.  My Dad and Sister-in-law (also college roomie), Amanda, are flying down to help us a week from today.  They will help get us boxed up and then load the truck and ride with us back (my Dad will drive the Penske since he was used to driving a school bus for so many years when I was little.  I have been getting various boxes from a grocery store...so it is nice that we don't have to buy them.  (If you ever move, that is the way to go!  Other than wardrobe boxes you don't have to buy any!)

Landon and I have been going to Planet Fitness to work out on occasion.  We really like it there...and the people are so nice.  If there is ever one near you...do it!  It is only $10 a month per person...which is great!  We have changed our eating habits again.  We are eating low carb (lots of meat...not much if any breads and pasta).  We have been doing this a week and I lost 5 1/2 lbs and he lost 7 1/2.  It feels so good!  I'm excited to know I will be able to fit into fun cute clothes again, eventually!  I have some, but haven't worn them in years because they don't fit.  I still need to lose 50 to be healthy.  I definetly don't want to have kids until I've gotten to my goal weight and been there at least a year or two.  I hope I keep losing like this though...it is so encouraging.  And for those who are trying and not losing...keep trying different things...and don't give up!  I have given up many times...which is one of the reasons my weight got so high (I would get frustrated and start eating bad again).

Well, I better go.  I need to get boxes out of the car, change for working out, shower, make dinner, and then go to a Princess House party!  I am getting things with a gift card too...so it feels like I'm not spending anything!  :)

Our Resignation

I just wanted to let you all know that Landon resigned this week from the church. We have been praying for a while now, and feel that God is taking him to grad school. We told the teens on Wednesday night...which was really hard. It went well, but definetly wasn't easy. He still has to announce it at church Saturday night as well as Sunday morning. We will be moving the end of February...to Indiana. We will be living with my parents for a while while we get jobs...then we will get a house. It will be interesting though, because Grandma will be living there too...and she isn't all there. Landon will hopefully start at Anderson University in the summer or fall to get a Masters of Divinity...which will take at least 3 years.
Thats the latest news! Please keep us in your prayers as we finish our time out here, and look for jobs in Anderson. Love ya all!

Happy New Year!!! (this is a LONG one!)

Ok...so it has been over a month since I last posted.  Our time on vacation was great.  We went to Chattanooga, TN for five days...and spent a lot of it relaxing.  We got over 10 hours of sleep everynight...which hasn't happened in so long!  We went to the aquarium, did some shopping, went to Ruby Falls, ate lots of fudge, ordered dinner into the hotel a lot, saw a few movies and just spend time the two of us(getting to know each other Biblicaly and all).  It was great to not have anyone calling or anything.  The night we got home we went to church (on a Saturday).  Our church is trying to reach out to those who don't like traditional services, and who might not be able to make service on Sunday mornings due to work.

We have been having an issue with someone at church...but I don't want to say anything about it in case they ever find this site.  It has just been stressful/frustrating.  I have been trying to be more calm, and even pray about it...which is hard when I am so upset about it.  (so please pray for me about this)

I started a new job at a Radiation therapy center as an Accounts Receivable person...but quit after a few hours.  I hate when a place is misleading in an interview.  I was told there was insurance (they knew I have a husband) and when I got to work my first day and we talked about it more, I found out it is an HMO plan (which isn't great) and that they only cover me.  It was going to cost $450 a month to add Landon on.  That doesn't even include when you pay copays for office visits or a dedutible!  AGH!  So...with that and not liking the job...I quit!  That Saturday I met with a guy from my church(who has his own research company-and is well off) and he told me (and Landon) that he wants to start a new business.  He wants to take homes that need a lot of renovation work, buy them, renovate them, and sell them for a little profit, but be able to help people in the process.  He wants to help them find a good home for them, get the right loan, and if possible share our testimonies if the opportunity arrieses.  Also, he is taking care of any medical bills we have, and one of the first homes we do will be for Landon and me!!!!  Yea!!!  We will finally get a house!

Landon and I were also able to fly to Indiana for Chistmas to see our families.  It was great to see our parents and siblings and just hang out!  We went to our favorite restaruants while there...and I got to see a close friend from elementary school.  I also got my esophagus strectched (I have choking issues) and go see another doctor no one wants to hear about.    While there I also got what I was calling a cold.  Through the process of it I had: runny nose, cough with mucus, cough, headache, puffy eye, ear aches, at night my eyes would water and get crusted shut, and a swollen throat.  We got home (FL) on Christmas Day in the evening...and I waited until January 2nd to go to the doctor.  He told me I have bronchitis...and put me on a Z-pack.  I took the last pill today...and hope that the remainder of the cough I have goes away soon!

New Years Eve we stayed home.  I was making stuff for a party I was having the next day...and Landon watched football(Go Colts!).  We did sit at one point and try and watch 40 Year Old Virgin .  We stopped watching pretty soon into it and decided we would try and sell it online....it was just to disgusting.  For some reason Landon's mom thought it would be great....and put it in his stocking for Christmas.  As the time counted down to a new year...I went from the couch to the love seat to sit with Landon and we kissed for a moment at then new year...and then about 12:01 decided to go to bed!

New Years Day party--I had a party at our senior pastor's house.  It was for some ladies in the church...and I had a thing with Princess House there.  They are having some cool giveaways the first 14 days of January...and I won a $100 gift certificate!  It turned out really well....and I was glad people actually came!

Well, that is all for now!  I hope you are all having a wonderful New Year so far!  My resolution?  LOSE WEIGHT!  Landon and I got a membership at Planet Fitness ($10 a month)...and once my cough is a little better (hopefully Monday)  I'm going to start working out!  I have a high goal for the beginning (to be completed somewhat soon)...and then a little slower after that....I think!  We'll see!  I'll post as I lose and let you know how much it has been...and pics will come eventually!

Now I'm really done!!!

Vacation!!!

Landon and I leave tomorrow morning for the airport!  We are going somewhere in TN for Thanksgiving...just the two of us and I'm really excited!  We haven't gone anywhere since our honeymoon a year and a half ago....and we have been busy every weekend with the teens since September.  We really need this time to relax and just be together.  I'm excited that I haven't had to think about it much...because Landon put it all together.  I don't know where we are going exactly (other than TN), what airline we are using, where we are staying, or what we are doing while there.  I know our flight is at 9 something AM tomorrow...and we come back on Saturday...but that is it!

Tonight we are going to Texas De Brazil for dinner.  It is SO good.  They have about 15 types of meat that they walk around with and cut off what you want...or give you a whole piece.  Things like filet menion wrapped in bacon, chicken wrapped in bacon, prime rib, sausage, etc.  There is mashed potatoes on the table...as well as a banana to cleanse the pallet.  They also have a salad bar with very unique things on it.  It isn't cheap, but we got a coupon for 1/2 off...so that is good.  It is normally $40 a person, but it will only be $40 for the two of us.  If you can ever go to one...DO IT!

Well, I need to get cleaned up, go to the mall and get some jeans at Steve and Barrys (everything is under $7), go get a Karen Kingsbury book at the library, then do some laundry for our trip tomorrow!  Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!!!
