| | So yeah havent been on this thing for a while. Well here is a short update
So I worked at Kanakuk all summer. It was an amazing life
changing experience that I can not fully explain in words. It was
physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually draining and
streched me to my limits in all of those areas where I did not know I
could be streached; and it was perfect. I had to rely on God to
get me through every day because I would have collapsed or lost my mind
if God had not been there to push me along. I had to rely on him
more than I ever have in my life. At times it was really hard to
deal with the kids, the heat, the really long days, and oh yeah the
kids. But it was so rewarding. I got to make a difference
in some kids lives. I could not see much of a difference in most
of them but there was one kid named Andrew that changed my life.
He probally thinks that I was the one teaching him but it was the
opposite. I got to sit on our cabin porch and talk about God and
life with him for two hours and in that two hours I gained a new
perspective on life. It was amazing how much passion this 11 year
old kid had for learning more about God and actually living a life that
reflects that. If we all had Andrew Barnes passion about living
for God we this world would be a better place. I can not express
the feeling of humbleness and imense honor that I had in having the
opportunity to share some of my experiences and wisdom with Andrew and
the rest of my campers. Like I said these words do not do justice
in explaining my summer or the impact it had on me, but it was one of
the most amazing experiences of my life and it was a true
adventure.
Life for me now that I am back at school is great. I live in a
life of luxury. I am in possibly the easiest major on campus, I
really do not do much school work at all. The fraternity is going
great, I still love it and all of my brothers in it. I could not
ask for a better living situation. I live under the same room
with 10 of my closest friends. And there are some pretty cool
girls who live across the street one of which happens to be my
girlfriend, Stephanie. So yeah it is true, Scott Zarse actually
found an amazing girl to call his own and she is amazing. Steph
and I have been good friends since last year and we worked together
thsi summer at Kanakuk. When school started, as a suprise to both
of us, so did our interest in each other. Since August 29th we
have been dating and it is going great.
So that is a slice of my life, I wish all of you could be around to see
the whole thing but know that I have been blessed. Thank you Lord.
