Maple syrup is the blood of trees. Think about that the next time you slather it on your pancakes, you fucking monsters.

the only fantasy sport i'm not terrible at

sesame place

from when mike and parents went to sesame place.  apparently he couldn't wait, broke free and
made a mad dash for elmo.  note the speed blur on his hands and foot.

if we could see into babies minds, right now you would see michael imagining himself at home,
with elmo as his mother and another possibly different color elmo as his father

what you can't see...the vice-like grip mike has on elmo's ass fur

"get this kid off of me"

typical night out for steve

9:30pm  -having a good time

10:45pm    -getting very drowsy, but still putting up a fight.  notice the
cup in his hand to try and show others that he's still in it. this tactic might
have worked except for the fact that he's clearly asleep

11pm  - completely not giving a fuck if we know that he's sleeping

12pm

12:30am

raku

possibly the most blatant, non-intentional product placement ever

end of semester class pictures

middle-schoolers

with their hard-earned graduation snacks

picture taken when i was "sick" from the night before.  this has been
happening a lot more often than i'd like

feedback from the kids

best line "I hit they, but I like them."

you might be wondering where the negative respsonses are, and the answer
to that is they don't exist(i burned them)

other than the doll hair, i quite like this one

immortalized on paper for killing some flies.  i'm a hero

cro-magnon bryan

bowling with co-workers.  you'd think 25 would be an age that someone would mature by

jasons going away

co-worker/friend jason is leaving back to the states

here he is with a pineapple pushing korean batman.

old photo from steve's birthday, quite a night as you can see

why does myspace lie to me

i taught the kids to "crush heads" like in kids in the hall.  they now also know how to brush their shoulders off.

NY-

big mike

 with kai and mike

kim, grace and caryn

he loves it

mr. and and mrs. bang

just bought this in itaewon...it's not as tacky as the ones you find in walmart but i think it's pretty close.
the back has the same image so you get equal doses of bad-ass coming and going....i don't know if i'll actually have the guts to wear it in public though

i actually submitted this to the jones soda website a long time ago, not sure if i ever put it up here but i'm pretty proud of it.  particularly the score.

Namhae Island

I recently took a weekend trip to Namhae Island with AdventureKorea, to a small fishing village of about 150 people.  We brought up the population by about 30% with two buses full of people.  I had a great time and it was a welcome change of pace from Seoul.

Our destination - Darenki Village

About half the buildings in the town

Our neighbor that guarded the entrance to our homestay

Went hiking which reminded me how out of shape I am

  The view from the peak

After hiking allll the way up, we did some hiking down to this beach

Not exactly Cancun, but it has character

The chief of one of the neighboring villages welcoming us to his hood

I don't know

One of several that were caught.  Some of the guys were encouraged to bite off the legs right after they were pulled out of the nets.  I like to eat octopus and all, but that looks disgusting.

Last Day of the Semester

Tooling one of my Junior High students in the arm-wrestling tournament which I of course won

This is "The Corner" which is normally reserved for 4th -5th graders who repeatedly misbehave.  It's meant to both shame and discipline.  This student however is a special case, the only 7th grader to ever receive the punishment.  Sometimes, i'll have everyone point and laugh for added humilation.

Me imparting some wisdom to the kids on our last day together-
