| What would Y'shua do?Sorry I've been slacking, folks...my work has kept me from blogging any at all.
I know it's the "in" thing for Christians to bash capitalism these days, so I have to ask your opinion:
Do you think Jesus would be caught inside Starbucks, McDonald's, or Wal*Mart?
My take on it tomorrow.

| Nine years ago today, two armed men asked two innocent girls to deny their Lord; compliance would save their lives, refusal would end them.
The girls won.

| Voice in the Dark [working title]Who hears the voice? Who heeds the call? Who will go where no one goes? Who will care at all? Who hears the cry? Who feels the pain? Who sees the need? Who will go all the way?
There's a cry in the streets Somebody's hurting, Somebody's hurting There's a voice that echoes in the dark Who will answer? Who will answer?
Here's another broken heart Here's another shattered dream Here's a loss of joy, here's a loss of hope Here I run to where I won't be seen His bottle shouts in anger Her tears fall from her wrists They rape their minds with bitterness The unforgiveness blows them away
There's a cry in the streets
Somebody's hurting, Somebody's hurting
There's a voice that echoes in the dark
Who will answer? Who will answer?
They don't know how to get out Do you know the way in? Will you bring them the Life Or tolerate them as they die in sin? These people can get out But they won't find it on their own Get out there and spread the word, help them find the Light While there's still time, work before the night falls...
There's a cry in the streets
Somebody's hurting, Somebody's hurting
There's a voice that echoes in the dark
Who will answer? Who will answer?

| The perfect studentLast night I was bearing a pretty hefty weight of condemnation because of something I did at school. I was up half the night afraid/worried/aware of the possibility of being reprimanded for it, but nothing ultimately came of it. While lying there, I had a vision of a student standing beside his desk on the front row of my class. I asked him to sit down, and he did. I asked him to open his book to page X and start reading, then do the questions at the end, and he got right on it. I was in disbelief, but I knew he represented the goodness that lies dormant in all of my students. It was at this point that I asked him, "What would it take for you to show up?" He just smiled at me, and said, "Be spontaneous."
As for now, I'm on spring break. After this, we have eight straight weeks without another holiday until May 23rd, which will be a half day. That puts us at 31 1/2 school days left. Here's to making it all the way there.
Yay for Thursdays -- date night with Jesus.
