HAWAI'I PICTURES!!!
oh mah gah! a terrorist! oh...its just me. wow, First Officer Mike Laccabue. that sounds good

the REAL F/O, Mark Hoffman. awesome guy, showed me everything about the 777 while we had a 90 minute delay at SFO for an engine problem.

descending into Honolulu

on final approach, we passed Pearl City and Pearl Harbor. the Arizona Memorial can be seen above the wing.

touchdown

the attitude indicator shows altitude, pitch, wing level, heading, airspeed and barometric pressure

the center pedestal. it looks hella confusing but its not. it controls most of the planes autopilot stuff.

this is the view from the room

Hawai'i has beautiful sunsets.

the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. the dip in the middle shows that the US was weakened and then got stronger again.

this is gun turret 3 on the rear side of the ship. its been there for 65 years, explaining the rust

that wall has all 1,177 names of the men on the Arizona who were killed on 12/7/41

closeup of the inset

view of the USS Missouri which was recently retired from Naval service

this is the same oil that has been leaking for the past 65 years. there is a growing concern about the large tanks that are corroded which will release the rest of the 10,000 gallons of oil in the next few years

the flight back was on a 767...a bit smaller, louder, bumpier but still a plane.

view of downtown Honolulu and Waikiki Beach from 6,000 feet

Diamondhead from 10,000 feet

more coast from 12,000 feet

Hanauma Bay where Toilet Bowl is located (13,500 feet)

goodbye Hawai'i! sorry its rotated

land ho! its hard to see but the dark stuff is Sausalito just over the top of the wing

on approach to 28L in SF, we passed Bay Meadows Race Track. the farther freeway is 101 and the one at the bottom left corner is 92. i tried to follow 92 to crystal springs but it was too cloudy to see the course

landing. the pilot sucked and we landed too fast and skidded...then we slowed 200mph in about 3 seconds but at least i dont have wiplash!

the 767 cockpit. i must say, the 777 is much larger and more comfortable.

we came into gate 80.
Mahalo nui loa to 777 Capt. D. E. Daniel and F/O Mark Hoffman and the rest of United Airlines for awesome service.
