My posting is getting even more and more sporadic, if that's even possible.

THINGS TO REMEMBER FROM SENIOR YEAR (an incomplete list, I'm sure)
+ France
+ Italy/London
+ Double proms
+ Prom afterparties
+ Felipe (and Laronte) Jackson
+ Period four
+ Chicago
+ Anything debate related
+ Especially Tim Averill Invitational and State Debate
+ Spice Girls
+ Morning car rides
+ French (an anti-education class)
+ SenFacDin
+ And for that matter, all other senior activities
+ Maryland
+ Wisconsin

This is a total mindsuck, I can't remember anything. This must be what early onset feels like. Whatever, I'll write a more poetic, more emotional reflection on my developmental growth throughout not only senior year, but my whole high school experience later (probably not).

Dear Summer,
You kind of pulled through this year. Even though the beginning was the worst I've ever had, you ended up okay, all things considered. Obviously I have to make a list to reflect on this less-than-momentous season.

GOOD THINGS OF SUMMER
- I turned seventeen. It was the best slumber party a girl could wish for. I never realized that so many people could fit in the basement or that Harry Potter could be so compelling in a group situation (lie, I ALWAYS knew how awesome Harry Potter was). Speaking of which...
- Harry Potter Seven came out. Like a true Potter freak, I not only went to get the book at midnight (and had an amazing time playing Potter Puppet Pals), but then continued to donate first nine hours locking myself in my room and finishing it and then the next month rereading all the books over again, including the seventh one. This resulted in my joining of at least thirty Harry Potter Facebook groups and inevitably turning every conversation into what I believe to be the best book series of all time.
- I grew my nails out. It's a bigger deal than it seems.
- I had a fantastic job. Yes, a job. Hannah Rosen, the biggest JAP in Shrewsbury, nay, Massachusetts, got an actual job (and kept it for more than a week). I spent most of the time reading and eating fruit, but who knew a farm could be that great?
- I quit Calliope. I thought that would be a sad thing for me, but it was possibly the best thing that happened all summer. Man, what a cesspool (kidding, sort of).
- Me and Julia spent an amazing day in Maine, and I got sort of tan, but the most fun was senior pictures. And pretending to be mermaids in negative one hundred degree water. And laying out all day listening to the French Canadians. And playing on the rocks. And hanging out with our moms.
- I took 8,000 vacations with Patrick. Actually two. Maine was really cool, seeing as I had only been there three times. We were in the boons and there were trucks in the front yard, and we shot a deer and cooked it over the campfire. Not really. Sag Harbor was equally fantastic, if not the polar opposite of the Maine trip. We spent the whole time "lampin'" with all fifteen member of the extended family that decided to visit at the same time. There was lots of swimming (and skinny-dipping when Patrick would leave) and a lot of shopping. I got two beautiful new LeSportsacs, neither of which I paid for, so the weekend was a wonderful success. We also took a day-trip to UMass. It was too hot to think, but we snuck into the dorms. And we ended up the summer with a trip with a whirlwind of favorites: Bertucci's, Prospect Park, the Rosen house. The soundtrack was great, and so were the laughs.
- I had another semi-fantastic time in Sag Harbor as well. There were less family members, but my favorite cousins were still there. Chance gave me lessons on how to be properly mean to people, and I got three new LeSportsacs then, so that was pretty successful too.
- I spent quite a bit of time with my boys (including last night [not that way though]). Every time we hung out, I would swear to myself that I had never laughed harder, until the night time we saw each other. They're fun, even if they have awful pronunciation skills and/or have the annoying habit of correcting people's grammar.
- I spent time with my girls too, thought not as much as I would have liked. We had sleepovers and gossiped all night, just like the way it should be. We ate a lot of food, thought not too many Cheez Doodles, and we had a lot of fun.
- I actually saw a lot of movies this summer. There's a three-way tie for most memorable: Stardust, with the Sam's (both of whom I love); Harry Potter at midnight with Patrick, Jess, Katie, and other assorted friends; or Knocked Up, with my mom. Wow.
- I continued the plight for women's suffrage. Meaning Jenn and I hung out quite a bit when she wasn't too busy playing baseball with five-year olds. It's a good thing we hung out so much, since the guidance department decided that we were never allowed to have any classes together again. But the summer was great.
- Samantha was finally home for the summer. For the first time in eight or however many years, the girl who has been there for me for everything except summer since I was two finally stuck around this year. Thank god. We spent a lot of time gate-crashing Grafton birthday parties and watching Disney movies, and I can't believe how I ever went a summer without this girl.

I always write these reflection entries and it always comes down to the same thing. Thanks friends, for once again pulling through and helping me salvage the summer that really looked like it couldn't be fixed. Thanks summer, for not being a total lost cause.

Love and other indoor sports,
Hannah

Liz, you are one of the most amazing people I have ever met in my life. You're always funny, friendly, and kind to everyone that you meet and you are stronger than anyone I know. You need to pull through because I love you and need you, and I don't know what I would do if you weren't in my life.
