  • Today's the day....

Today's the day, the sun is shining, son is flying out on an airplane, and I am going to be busy, "gasp" SON IS FLYING OUT ON AN AIRPLANE (think starfish on the day Darla arrives in "Finding Nemo")....all by himself, without his mommy holding his hand.  I am beside myself.  I will not rest until he has made it on the other side, safe and sound. lol  Ok, got it out of my system.  Well, he is packed, and ready to go.  I so badly want to be there, to see everyone, to hold his hand through the whole trip, but mostly to help out at Bible Boot Camp.  I really did enjoy doing that.  I guess there is always next year, right?  Well, enough chattering.  Can you tell I am a little anxious?  I am going to give it back to God now, and know that no matter what happens, that little man loves Jesus and will be well protected by Him.

  • Buy coffee to save a child from prostitution and slavery...

Today in service we had the privilege of listening to a Born-again
Jewish Missionary to Thailand, Judah Becker, and his beautiful new
music artist wife, Katie Becker, tell us about their mission to save
children from prostitution and slavery. First he told us his
testimony that starts with him being 2 years old and hearing God tell
him that He was his friend. At 17 he accepted Christ as the Messiah
which led him to starting many churches in Thailand and then God
spoke to him in a very clear way that he wanted to change his mission
to save the children. You have to hear the story from him, but
suffice it to say, God's hand has been in each event in his life.
Katie joined him as his for life partner just six months ago. You
can read their bio's on the site. If you email the ministry, ask
about Liee (not sure about the spelling but it has a long "i" and a
long "e" sound in her name) You will be astounded at what he tells
you. They are headed to Montana next, and I know they will go just
about anywhere to get this coffee sold. He brought 3 1/2 cases to
Crossroads Newlife Fellowship (my new church here in WY) and we ended
up taking orders for more as we bought it all and then some. It is
Organic and the only coffee imported to the US that he knows of that
is not sprayed with formaldehyde. Check it out...

DH and I just bought 1.5 lbs and one of Katie's music CD's. This
was a special he was offering at the Church.

  • My little man, growing up so fast...

Yesterday, I spent the better half of the day emailing back a forth with the Children's Minister back at Faith Church St Louis working out details on how to get son to Bible Boot Camp at the end of June.  Then I did it, I purchased my son a one way ticket to St Louis.  (he will be riding back with his Nonie and PaPa to come home) and now I am excited and scared at the same time.  I even paid for the flight insurance.  I figure if I get it, nothing bad will happen.  He is only 6 and thinks he is 10.  He will be gone most of the summer, at least until my brother's wedding.  He is going on the adventure of his little life, and I will not be there to hold his hand. lol  Does anyone feel my pain?

  • Kindergartner voted out by students in FL...

I read this story on Cafemom and couldn't believe it.

Read the story and be sure to send Alex a card because he is special

    http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/earlyshow/main500202.shtml

    Then go to http://homespunlife.blogspot.com/2008/05/voting-day-someones-gotta-go-whos-next.html

    To send Alex a card.

Here are my thoughts on the issue:

How horrible!!!  I am outraged!!!  It is hard enough to grow up with a self-esteem intact without having someone who is in charge tell a child all the things that are wrong with them, and then force other children to do the same and vote him out of his classroom.  Alex is not the only one who was emotionally abused.  What about the other 16 children in his class?  Are they not just as scarred from the incident?  They are only 5 & 6 and they have been directed to criticize their peer who was not "up to their standards".  What is this and why is this teacher not suspended?  This is yet another reason I homeschool.  I cannot trust the public school system to screen their teachers well enough to not allow crack pots like this one in.  I have to say it again, How horrible!!!

Click on the link and find out for yourself! They are holding a contest for school children to participate.Elementary,Private and Parochial schools are allowed to participate but NOT homeschooled children! This is so wrong and I am NOT going to be eating there anymore! Why support them when they don't support us! I don't know what their problem is with homeschool children but everyone should know Subways view points on homeschoolers.Obviously our children are NOT as good as public school children!!!

    http://www.subwayfreshbuzz.com/kids/contest.aspx

HERE IS A LINK TO A PETITION STARTED AGAINST SUBWAY BY HOMESCHOOLING FAMILIES THAT ARE TIRED OF BEING DISCRIMINATED AGAINST!! PLEASE READ AND SIGN! STAND UP FOR OUR HOMESCHOOLING CHILDREN!!!

    ****edited to correct petition link****

***UPDATE***  Subway has issued an apology letter to HSLDA stating they didn't intent to alienate the homeschoolers, just tried to give the failing public school system some sports equipment.  They state they have a new contest planned where everyone is invited, and sincerely hope we will forgive them for this last faux paux. lol  I am going to wait to see the new contest before I step into Subway.  Personally, it is not my favorite place to eat, anyway. lol

About Me

  • Actually in Wyoming just 2 miles from the Utah border, and not anywhere near Cheyenne or Casper, so I picked the Salt Lake City metro. I am a stay at home mom who loves to surf the internet. Being a Representative who helps others set up travel agencies, I love travelling and meeting new people. My wonderful, adorable, and sexy husband is working a full time job. My talented, smart, computer savvy, cute, 6 year old son is the joy of my life and keeps me going by making sure I get out of bed every day at 8:am. I enjoy many things, and God has blessed me greatly!!!
