trials:
it reveals the true nature of what lies within,
peeling away unnecessary layers of pleasantries;
it exposes what the self fears the most.
a choice must be made;
it is satan tempting me;
penetrating my weakest vulnerabilities...or
it is God pruning me;
forging a new layer of strength within me.
from the depths of despair and uncertainty,
emerges a seed of hope and fortitude.
for it is the said, the bigger your struggles,
the bigger your victories.
i openly embrace and accept trials;
knowing that they serve only to strengthen me.
in the midst of fiery arrows and burning inferno,
i stand still knowing that the power of God keeps me safe.
Thank you for teaching me this lesson;
for the test was great enough to bring me to my knees,
yet, not great enough to keep me down.
"..for character is never exposed in times of prosperity,
but always revealed in times of adversity".
