I want to compile a list of my 100 favorite quotes, like the American Film Institute.  Tall task, I know.  So I thought I'd start keeping a tab on the ones I know and rank them later.  These aren't widely profound lines, but they are to me, or perhaps it's a phrase that I've adopted or used in my vocabulary.

"Ernest Hemmingway once wrote: 'The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.  I believe in the second part."--Detective William Somerset, Se7en.

"Who has time?  Who has time?  But then if we never take time, how can we have time?"--Merovingian, The Matrix Reloaded.

"Who's the more foolish?  The fool?  Or the fool who follows?"--Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

"Faster!  Faster would be better!"--Captain Malcolm Reynolds, Serenity.

"Fall!  Fall!"--Megatron, Transformers: The Movie.

"Now I've justified this to myself in all sorts of ways. It wasn't a big deal, just a minor betrayal. Or we'd outgrown each other, you know, that sort of thing. But let's face it, I ripped them off - my so called mates. But Begbie, I couldn't give a shit about him. And Sick Boy, well he'd done the same to me, if he'd only thought of it first. And Spud, well okay, I felt sorry for Spud - he never hurt anybody. So why did I do it? I could offer a million answers - all false. The truth is that I'm a bad person. But, that's gonna change - I'm going to change. This is the last of that sort of thing. Now I'm cleaning up and I'm moving on, going straight and choosing life. I'm looking forward to it already. I'm gonna be just like you. The job, the family, the fucking big television. The washing machine, the car, the compact disc and electric tin opener, good health, low cholesterol, dental insurance, mortgage, starter home, leisure wear, luggage, three piece suite, DIY, game shows, junk food, children, walks in the park, nine to five, good at golf, washing the car, choice of sweaters, family Christmas, indexed pension, tax exemption, clearing gutters, getting by, looking ahead, the day you die."--Mark "Rent" Renton, Trainspotting.

"Time is the fire in which we burn."--Dr. Tolian Soran, Star Trek: Generations.

"Sure, I'll lose the war eventually, but the goal is to win a few skirmishes along the way, right?"--Harvey Pekar, American Splendor.

"Locksley, I'm gonna cut your heart out with a spoon!"--Sheriff of Nottingham, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

"Protection from what?  Zee Germans?"--Turkish, Snatch.

"Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends."--Gandalf, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

"A person is smart; people are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it!"--Agent Kay, Men in Black.

"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward."--Rocky Balboa, Rocky Balboa.

Thirteen quotes.  Not bad.  I'm a little over a tenth of the way there.
