  • Fear(hopefully the official version)

    071

Well, I've gone over this story once. I've gone over this story twice.

Ok, I think I've gone over this story over ten times.

And I didn't even revise it yet!

I had to do that from Sunday to yesterday! So add to the "going over the story" list.

And actually, I might read it sometime tomorrow and hope to finish it, even though I got work tomorrow. But I'm ready to call it over! I'm finished with the story of Fear!

And now, time to see if I can get it published!

It's not going to be easy. I have to sell the idea to an agent(yes, I need to hire an agent) so I need to see how that works. Then I have to hope he does a great selling job and get a nice deal. Then of course, figure out which company I should let publish my book. I hope to get something done next week before thanksgiving break, but I'll see obviously.

Anyways, so I'm attempting to publish Fear. Now, this is probably burning into all of your minds: what are the differences between "Fear" attempting to get published, and "Fear" on that other xanga site that I haven't been on in a while?

There's so many differences that you'll need to skip all your classes in one day or take a day off from work. Ok, that's not true, but there are a lot of differences.

    Fear"Official" Version Vs Fear"Xanga"Version:

Easily the most obvious difference is the length. There's no debating it.I am not restricted by online limitations. Why is it so long though? Even easier:

When I wrote the xanga version, I wrote it in January. The story site didn't launch until February.

When I wrote the version I want published, I wrote it in July. July! That means I had about five months to write this story. And unlike my xanga story, I've gone over "Fear" so many times I remember the entire story like clockwork.

But it is the same story, right?

Yes...and no. Ok, ok...I'm saying it right now...it is the same story. So that means if you've read the xanga version, it starts talking about the human-demon war, and it ends with Fear crumbling like stone. Same thing. However, it is told completely differently. In fact, I changed the year. It's over 500 years behind of where my Xanga story was(which was around 1000)I went and described the lands of Bethumet. Yes, there's a lot more interaction I believe with this story as opposed to the xanga story.

Ok, so it's longer, but it's the same story. Uh, DIFFERENCE?!?!?

What? There is a difference! Geez, you guys are so impatient. Anyways, there's a lot of changes to many of the chapters. You might not even recognize them all! Well, some are somewhat the same. There's a few chapters that I combined to make the same. And there's a few chapters that I made stand alone, unlike my xanga story! So yeah, that also means no more X chapters either. Also, the story is in third person, so Courage's chapters are not first person anymore. I bet you know I struggled doing those chapters!

I mean, if you compared the chapters, xanga to book, xanga to book, xanga to book, some of the chapters have the same intentions, but the words are all different, not to mention the length. Now I would show you an example, but I'm going to wait and see if I can get it published or not and come back to you guys with that. I mean, I'm sneaking you guys info as I speak. Isn't that good enough?

No. You still haven't told us anything we didn't expect!

    Urgh! All right, all right!

In my new story, there are a few significant changes that affect the story:

    1. Seven Orbs of Bethumet

    Wait, Seven?!?

Yes, seven. I ended up sneaking one more orb in the story, meaning that there is an extra chapter that actually inhabits the newest land that I'm about to say:

    2. Welcome to Kose

Kose was originally one of the lands I had planned in the xanga story. But I took it out, thinking I had enough lands as it is. Well, there's now another land, but this is probably the land I like the most. Unlike the lands I've talked about, which are basic and normal, Kose is surrounded by beautiful forests and trees. And does not have elves in them. Yes, the land is inhabited by humans. Rather strange, huh? I debated the elf thing, but decided not to use them. Oh well. But I like the characters that live there. I'll get to those later. Gotta talk about some other differences:

    3. Advanced Aurol

Now, I did mention Aurol in my previous story. But I never described the land. In fact, they were only mentioned because Sayrun just happened to stay there (Speaking of Sayrun, he is back, so if you like one hit wonders, he's BACK!) Well, I did describe Aurol, and they are far and away more advanced than any other land combined. They created faucets and museums. And games of chance, like Las Vegas. I also describe the rich and cold hearted Queen of Aurol, Soria.

    4 The Thgil Mercenaries

Inspired by Fire Emblem, I decided to create a mercenary group! Yeah, seems unnecessary, but it turned out to be better than expected. Tyrande just happens to be the leader of the Thgil Mercenaries, because she's the main character(what?!?)and I created four new characters to join her: Lane, the advisor of the group, the man who makes suggestions; Catalena, a healer who can sense emotions in stable areas; Paragon, a strong man who carries a huge axe; and Sachi(Hmm...wonder where I got this name from?) a master spellcaster. When you read the story, you'll understand why these four extra mercenaries gave me more options with this story than without it! Now, on to another diff-

NO, WAIT, STOP!!! TYRANDE??? WHO THE HELL IS TYRANDE???

Whoa, calm down! Calm down! I was going to get to this later...geez, you guys are so impatient. Anyways, who is "Tyrande"? Tyrande...is Courage's real name. Yep, I decided just like Fear, who we know his name is Cizard, I gave Tyrande the name she was given at birth. Of course, there's only two ways she gets called Courage. If everything goes right, you'll know when those are!

Anyways, continuing the new stuff in the story:

    5. Kose's characters

As per request with any land, there has to be a couple of important figures that have something to do with the story! The most important person in Kose is clearly the Queen, Karratha! Let's just say she's linked with one of my main characters. I won't say how.

A few more important figures is Prince Alvis, a young man who also resembles a main character in a way, Princess Natasha, and Lute. Of course there's a few more characters in Kose, but I believe these characters impact the story in a significant way.

    6. New chapters!

And what I mean by that is that there are additional chapters that make their debut in my story. One such chapter involves Fear making an appearance...in a camp...or to be specific...a dry, dry lake. I will not reveal what that story is. Because I just don't want to!

Overall, there's such a retelling of this story that you'll be hard pressed to say that this is the same story! I compared it and it's just not that close. The ending remains the same, but it's more new than old.

Anyways, any questions you guys got I'll add to next week's blog. Until then, wish me luck!

UPDATE- Also...look for some pictures of the characters next week!

Kore Wa Nan Desu Ka? "What is it"

There's a lot of things up. Starting with work. GAH!!! I had to do so much moving around...my workouts don't compare. Actually, I came close to breaking some of the equipment I had to take back. Not good obviously.

But anyways, I've managed to survive! And I have tomorrow to chill out! Always good to have NFL Sunday right there!

  • .......So, uh, what was I supposed to say?

Remember when I said that I would probably have something fairly long when I decide to show up on the weekends?

Do you also remember that I said it depended on if everything went according to schedule?

Yeah, turns out I did not get everything done in time. WAHAAAAAHHH!!! Well, one thing's for sure: I'm guaranteeing you that I will go over my official installment of Fear on Friday. Because I plan on finishing my revisions today or tomorrow!

Why am I going over Fear again? Isn't it the same as the one on the www.xanga.com/fear_1 site?

    Why yes it is.

It's also a no as well.

    Huh? What? I'm confused!

Well, I'll explain everything on Friday, so calm down and wait until Friday! Geez!

Anyways, today I'm just going to talk about my third love, which is sports. MWAHAA!!! I don't talk about it much, but I think I will for now. I've talked about anime, I've talked about video games: why not talk about sports? Well, today I'm starting it right now. Here's a subject that seems to get magnified in the sports world today:

We Want Now, Nothing Else Matters

What am I implying when I say this? Basically what I'm saying is people that are devoted fans to a certain sport don't give a damn about the future, or don't give a damn about what happened last year: they want to win, and they want to win now. Granted, everyone wants to win. Nobody likes losing as much as the next guy. Problem is, I think, in this age of media and state of the world, we, as sports fans, take this problem to considerably unrealistic expectations. We continue to think that our teams can be better than we think they really are, when they aren't. Nobody wants to be patient anymore. That age is seemingly over.

There are so many perfect examples of this that it's not intended to be funny, but I'll go over a few that happened this week! I might have the order wrong on this, but Tuesday, Tennessee head football Coach Philip Fulmer, who's been the coach at Tennessee for over a decade or so, went 150-74, and won a National Championship in 1997 or 1998(sorry for forgetting) got fired. Why? Because his team will be bowl ineligible for the second time in four years, the offense has looked terrible this year, and of course, they've been dominated by their rival Florida for the past few years now. Um...what's sad about this is the guy just took his team to the SEC Championship game last year. LAST YEAR. For someone's who's done a lot of winning, you can't give him a pass? NO, because we want now, that's why!

    Here's the argument against Fulmer:

He hasn't won a National Championship in over a decade.

He hasn't been an SEC Championship in over a decade.

He has allowed Tennessee to be bowl ineligible two of the last four seasons.

    Fair arguments. Problem is:

He has been to more than Five SEC championships, some in this generation, including last year.

He's won 150 games. That's not easy to do.

We can keep a coach like Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno for forever, we can't keep Fulmer?

In the end, "NOW" speaks volumes.

On that same day, the Cleveland Browns, perennial losers each and every year since they moved back to Cleveland, benched QB Derek Anderson in favor for Brady Quinn. Now, I have nothing against Brady Quinn, so I won't criticize him. Really, this blame goes all the way back to Browns management. In the 2007 NFL Draft, they traded their 2008 First round draft choice and other picks to acquire Brady Quinn. Since they paid that much to get him, don't you think they'd play him right away? Well, they might have, if he signed in time for camp. He signed in late, meaning he was behind in learning the offense, and that left the job up to Charlie Frye and Derek Anderson. In week 1 of that season, they got destroyed by the Steelers.

Charlie Frye got traded after that game.

Everyone thought Derek Anderson was keeping the seat warm for Quinn.

I felt that they should have played Quinn.

Turns out "Now" that they should have. Because the next week, Anderson threw six TD against the Bengals, and he kept the job the entire season. He went to the Pro Bowl. He almost got the Browns to the playoffs with ten wins. Know this guys: The browns haven't had a competent QB in ages. So you would think Anderson would be safe for this year right? Especially after he signed that three year, 21 million dollar deal, right?

    Eh, no.

He got benched this year because:

    A) He completed well under 50% of his passes

    B) The team was 3-5

    C) This is a QB driven league, and speaking of QB,

    D) Quinn was on the team!

No one thought to blame the WRs, who have been hurt, dropped passes, not run correct routes.

That offensive line, who haven't been as good as they were last year

Oh, and how about that defense? Yeah...they haven't been very good.

All that got pinned on a guy who won 10 games for you! Congratulations, Cleveland! You did what you've been known to do for your existence.

I don't even have to mention what that is. That's how sad they've been.

All right, that's it for now...I guess lol. Promise to have something good on Friday!

  • The Week...of...Pain...

    Man...what a weird week...I don't know what to say...well...I know what you'll say when I describe....

    MY WEEK OF PAIN!!!!!

Monday: As soon as I got to my math class, instead of talking about that, we ended up discussing what we're registering for spring classes. Geez, I'm almost there already? Not without talking about that loan! I've been trying to get it to work for months, and I had to suffer for an hour and ten thousand minutes instead of working out. I had so much work to do...it was so unfair...

Tuesday: Just waking up early to get to my class is enough to include on my week of pain...nothing really comes to mind that happened...oh wait...I know...I finished my Fear story.

    Yep, that's right.

    I FINISHED MY FEAR STORY!

...Well...I do have to revise it...make sure it makes sense...but once it's completely finished...I'll attempt to get it published. If it gets published...well, I hope I'll let you guys be the first to know some of what's supposed to happen!

Wednesday: It was one of those days. I skipped math class. I got the loan certified. YEAAHHH!!!! Now I can finallly pay for the semester(took a million years)and not worry about cash. Phew! Then I had to go on a trip. WHY??? Because I had to do an essay on the museum I went to. If I didn't go, I'd get an F. I've avoided that so far...

Thursday: I went to all my classes. I didn't miss much on Wednesday's math, as it turned out. All I know was that english sucked. Why? Because I had to type a report. What does that mean? I have now three english reports due monday. Yes, that's right, I have THREE ENGLISH REPORTS DUE MONDAY. Grr....I may like my english professor, but geez..

Friday: I mean it's halloween! How can I not like halloween??! Well, if you're not trick or treating, how can you enjoy halloween? I bet all of you had a better halloween than me! I had to head home. That's right. I had to head home! While everyone headed to the village or went to people's houses or stayed out late, I had to stay inside and revise my story. This is what happens when you're treated like a child in your house. And why I can't wait to get out lol

Hmm...this blog wasn't particularly long, eh? Well, don't worry about that next week. As long as everything goes according to plan, you will get something long. Very long...
