| Looking forward to the weekend
|
Yeah,
I know it's almost Monday, but I'm excited about next weekend when we
go to D-land! I'm having major withdrawals as I haven't been since
April! But I think we will be going again in December and then maybe
for New Years. Woo hoo!
The new job is going well. I'm starting
to feel part of the team now and feel like I am starting to contribute.
That is really the most important part to me. I need to know I am doing
my part and actively contributing to the team, making a difference. I
like the people I work with too. There are just a few of us who are in
the office on the team, and the young guys are a riot. Especially when
they are all together, they sorta feed off of each other and it's
hilarious.
Life is pretty darn good right now, and I can't complain. |

| information overloadThe first week is going well. As in any job, I'm on information overload right now, but I have confidence that I can do it, with work. I have a lot of responsibility in this position and it is very fast paced. I'm dealing with labor and equipment costs and quantities and it is done all day everyday. This project is design build, so it's massively important to have the updated information daily so the project managers know what they are working with and can better forcast each task order and keep the present jobs in line with the budget. Anway, I have already learned a lot in just 3 days, and this company has a lot of perks. I may occasionally have access to some tickets for A's, Giants, Sharks, etc. games. The company has a luxury box at the Oakland coloseum and at AT&T park. There are a lot of A's fans at the company so I feel at home :). The guy training me has only been with the company for 6 months and is being moved up to a Field Engineer. I am taking his Office Engineer position. He has been very helpful and is showing me everything he knows.
Also, I get to go back to being paid twice a month instead of once. That will be a nice change.
Yeah, I am working long days and working really hard, but it is very worth it. I see a lot of potential and it's a great place to be.
Oh and the commute is awesome!!! I'm hoping to go home for lunch one of these days!

| NewI start my new job tomorrow....exciting!
Also, I started selling Avon. Let me know if you would like a catalog. There are tons of things in there.....lots of great gifts too!
| I got a new job and I start in a week. I'm getting over the disbelief and am now accepting it :) It's a life changing opportunity for me and I'm really excited about it. The fact that they were able to see through my title and actually see what I do and what I know is awesome. I applied for a project administrator positon and came out accepting an Engineer positon. I am ready to work my ass off and am looking forward to the opportunity to grow in the company. All my hard work is now starting to pay off I think.
My last day is this Thursday and I have mixed emotions. Happy because I got an offer I couldn't refuse and it's great for me now and in the long run.....but sad because I will miss a lot of the people I work with tremendously. I'm hoping I can recruit a few of them and be able to work with them again. Gilroy has been a good time and I have always seen it as a second home...even more so now.
Of course, they are going to reclassify my position now that I'm leaving...typical. 2 of my supervisors have been requesting a reclass since before I even started...years...and the powers that be refused....and now 2 days after I gave notice, they have decided to go ahead and do it....it sorta makes me mad, but just for a moment....if they had just reclassified my job, I wouldn't have been looking for something else, but then again I would have never gotten this great position. So it's all good. I do get a little bit of satisfaction (just a little bit) that all hell is breaking loose because no one knows what I do, and probably won't realize the full extent until after I leave....but oh well.....not my problem I suppose....
Life is good right now......it will be even better in a month when I will be able to pay off my credit card and start putting down big chunks on my school loan balance. Hurray!!
And it looks like Dennis should have a new job soon too. We're moving on up!
| Yay!!!I almost have a new job!!!!
