It was albino..

I was extremely puzzled as to why the picture was there. And then suddenly the Naturalist blurted out.."We are going to dissect mice today!!!. isn't this going to be fun?!?!?" . Deep inside i felt like screaming out "NOOOOOOOO, MY RELIGION FORBIDS IT!" ....but i fought the urge.

Ok so when they dished out the mice, they had been frozen up in a ziplock bag with 20 other mice, in all different positions. That in and of its self is cruel and wrong. Then they gave us all sharp razor blades and gave us these directions....."Make an incision between the two front legs and down through its torso and down to the genitals without rupturing the mussel tissue and getting blood everywhere. And when you've done that then pull out the back legs from the skin, and with your bare hands...for they gave us no gloves....peel the skin of the mouse of its inside organs and tissue and finally pull the tail bone out of its tail. When you've done that go and wash the skin of in the restroom sink and dry it , then rub baking soda all over the inside of the skin...then stuff the head with a cotton ball and then staple its limbs to a piece of cardboard and your ready to go...

I almost barfed...:(

the sickness of it...

~zoe

A tale for the sake of science..aka...how to gut a mouse and keep its skin as a rug.

Ok ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...last tuesday some friends took us to the nature center for a science class...to my utmost horror, drawn on the white board was a picture of a mouse...But not just any mouse.
