060606 - HI ALL!

hello and goodbye! i'll be going off to romania for the summer where i'll be working for the 'solidarity and hope foundation', a local NGO.

and i've reached my photo limit by posting a total of FOUR photos. great. let's have more fun when i come back in august, k?

christmas and new year greetings from dublin everyone! we finally managed to get hold of computers at the student computing centre here at the university college where the debating competitions are going to be held. and i must say... itz ffffrrrrrrrrreezing over here... and with everybody's tight budget... our only hot meals are breakfast - we've been munching on self-made sandwiches (which actually turn out tasting quite nice) for dinner since we arrived - paradoxically, itz a warm experience - especially with everyone crowded in one tiny hotel room, with one shouting 'hey! pass me the baked beans!' and the other 'omg where's my brrrrrrrread???'...

the real debates are starting tomorrow and there will be a total of nine rounds. so far we've met ppl from the most exotic places u could ever have thought of. just before i could continue starting to describe stuff here i've been told 5 seconds ago to log off. so i shall do so - happy holidays for now. cya later.

I'M BACK! no i haven't abandoned my xanga no i haven't hid myself no i haven't forgotten about anything no i'm still ALIVE

in fact what i've been doing is constructing a portfolio of photographs that i have taken over the summer, during which i went to vancouver where i've been taught some skills...

and where i found out how mysterious this activity could be. u take a camera with you, view the world through the lens, discover things which you haven't discovered before, compose your photo, decide on the ambience and the theme of your photograph, and - snap. viewers, in turn, see the world through your photograph - their lens. whatever you chose to include in your photograph, they see it. and whetever you chose not to include, they will never, ever see it. and anything in your photograph, be it a point of view, a shadow, an object, an angle, a line, a colour or combinations of it... is potentially something which may strike somebody else. it all seems remarkable to me.

no wonder they say "a picture's worth a thousand words"

Just How Sexy Are Lawyers?

So you think you're hot stuff on the dating market because you're a rising young legal star earning megabucks at a powerhouse law firm.

Think again.

A recent survey of 5,000 people by Salary.com found that lawyers ranked 10th on a list of the top "sexiest" jobs.

The top three "hot jobs" were firefighter, flight attendant and chief executive officer. Lawyers ranked just below doctors and just above veterinarians.

The folks at Salary.com seemed to think their survey shows that salary is not a key component in determining a person's sex appeal. But what do Florida lawyers think of those results?

Fort Lauderdale labor lawyer Alex Londono, 29, doesn't buy it. He passed the Florida bar exam two months ago.

The lawyer at Fisher & Phillips reports steady success on the social circuit. "As long as I slip in how much I make," he added with a laugh.

Londono offered another bit of evidence that the survey may be flawed. After he passed the bar exam, his mother bought him a shirt that reads, "Trust me, I a lawyer." Contrary to the survey findings, he said, wearing the shirt increases his chances of chatting up women. It doesn't hurt that he speaks French.

Even if their sex appeal is dipping, lawyers are still better endowed, financially speaking, than professionals who ranked higher in the survey.

Salary.com reports that the median salary for lawyers is more than three times that of news reporters, who ranked third on the sexy jobs list.

That means lawyers can afford to console their lonesome selves with solo trips to exotic vacation destinations, while poor but charismatic journalists must invite their dazzling dates home to dine on Ramen noodles.

But wait.

News reporters ranked third, in a three-way tie with interior designers and event planners. That seems preposterous enough to invalidate the whole survey.

i had my first HATHA YOGA lesson last night with naaaat!

we nearly broke our spine and at the same time, ironically, nearly feel asleep.

think about lying down on a mat in a large studio with all lights off - all except the glitter from the other side of the harbour, from wanchai, from IFC... the view was both amazing and "how-can-you-not-fall-asleep".

best followed by lovely desserts - if only the mango wasn't sour, right naaaat?
