| Rosemount attended the St. Louis BOA regional last weekend and did such a fantastic job!!! I'm really proud of all the students, they absolutely deserved all the credit they got. We have our last show this weekend- Minnesota State Finals are being held at the Metrodome this Saturday. Lots of awesome bands will be there, so everyone should come!
Today, I have the day off, which is quite needed... the weekend was wonderful, but exhausting. Right now I'm just sitting at a cafe in Minneapolis enjoying a latte and catching up with emailing etc... Thank God for a relaxing day off!
All in all, things are going fine right now. I think I've basically got things figured out. I'll be in Florida for December and January working and teaching at Chamberlain. February, I'll begin school at Hamline- it's about time I get back to school. I'm nervous about being in school since it's been such a long time, but the longer I stay out, the more scared I'll be to go back. After that, we'll see how things go. It would be nice to figure out a way to be closer to Kevin- long distance is a bitch.
REMINDER: two weeks from tomorrow is the election. Now is a good time to look up info about candidates if you haven't already. Regarding our country- "If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention." | | |
| Infections, Marching Band & LattesAll my life consists of lately... Infections, marching band, and lattes.
First it was the bladder/urinary tract/kidney infection and now the throat virus-thing. Between all the doctor visits and no health insurance, just existing in good health has been very expensive lately.
Marching Band has been going well, but it sure is cold outside. The poor Rosemount colorguard performs in all sorts of weather BAREFOOT! Poor girls! They're real troopers, though.
Oh, and the coffee... I make a lot of coffee drinks... "was that a half-caf, skinny, single-tall, extra hot mocha with extra mocha, half a shot of almond and no foam?" Yeah... that's my job. By the way, if you order drinks like that, I don't think we can be friends anymore. If you do order drinks like that, at least tip your friendly barista :)
On another note, the election is coming up soon - you're registered to vote, right? If you are a Minnesota resident, you can register at the poll the same day you vote!!! I think we might just be the only state that does that. Oh blue states, how I love thee!
By the way, thank you to all those who gave me positive ideas on what to do with my life. Although, I think you're going about it much like I did last time... just shouting out a random place to go, and then going there. It's a decent tactic, but I think my aim is to stay a little more grounded this time. We'll see... Stay tuned!

| Back... and ready for action!I know, I know... it's been a real long time since I've written anything. You've probably given up on even reading my Xanga. Well, believe me, it's hard to update when you don't have internet access at your fingertips. I rarely get online, but hopefully all that will change soon whenever my life gets back to manageable. Lately, I've just been teaching at Rosemount High School in Minn. which has been great. I've also been working at Ginkgo Coffeehouse which certainly has its ups and downs. Besides what's happening currently, I don't know anything else. People keep asking me about my plans after marching band is done and questions about school and winterguard. I DON'T KNOW I DON'T KNOW I DON'T KNOW!!! That's about the most detailed description I can come up with about my plans. Believe me, I wish I had something that sounded a little cooler. I'll let you know when I do... if I do... I'm living in St. Paul right now - on the corner of Summit and Fairview if you know where that is (near the St. Thomas campus). I'm not nearly as social as I should be at the age of 22, so please come kidnap me and force me to have fun. It'll be good for me. | | |
| MNWell, I'm back in Minnesota... all safe and sound. It was a long, but fun road trip- a couple times I honestly thought that I'd fall asleep at the wheel and die horribly in a fiery crash. My cats were definitely hating me hard core. The poor babies! I had to board them over the weekend while I was at my Southwind camp. When I picked them up on Sunday, the woman working at the vet clinic told me that I'd have to get my cats out myself because Chupa had torn her to pieces earlier that morning. I felt terrible and of course apologized profusely, especially when she showed me her battle scars all over her hands, arms, neck and face. They really did a number on her.
I'm going to have to put up some pictures of my babies soon so that everyone can see how precious (... and vicious) they are!
Now that I'm home, I'm a little busier than I wish I were... It seems like there's always something happening - graduations and campaign meetings and colorguard rehearsals - my goodness!!!
