| Well I now can say that I have participated in a 30 Hour Famine.
This was one of the most memorable experiences I will take with me for
the rest of my life. It was amazing to be totally in charge of
the entire 30 hours. However, the most amazing part of the famine
was the fact that the students raised $3,319.00 dollars to help feed
children all around the world!!!
Since they raised that much money, I now have the craziest haircut I have had and will ever have.... The Du Hawk.
Another amazing experience I had was at Ultimate Frisbee tournament at
College Station where Texas A&M is located. It had been the
first tournament I got to play in since Sectionals in Tulsa in
April. I played with a group of people I have befriended while
here in Austin; the team name is Ko-Su. This weekend I scored the
greatest point of my entire life....
Not only did I score a Callahan (a point caught in the end zone, a
point only scored by one person). But I scored a Callahan off of my own
pull, off of a Mac (which is when you catch the frisbee after one or
more people have tipped the frisbee), for the final point of the game,
and to finish an 11-0 shut out of Texas Christian University. I
don't think there will ever be another opportunity to do all of these
things on one point; but I once again can cross something off of my
list of things to do before I die; and am very thankful to have scored
such an amazing point!
Well I am now down to one month and 5 days left of my internship... I
cannot believe it is almost all over, it will be so very
bittersweet.
Hope this finds all of you well! Peace and Love

| Well since it has been a while, I suppose I should update!
First things first, Austin City Limits Music Festival was one of the
most amazing things I have ever been a part of. My top five of
the weekend would have to be...
5.) The Frames
4.) Keane
3.) Death Cab For Cutie
2.) Thievery Corporation
1.) Coldplay
(Jason Mraz was also great, among many others)
Even though it was average of over 100 degrees, dry, and extremely
dusty it was sensational! The company was what made the weekend .
A thank you to Jake Funk, Benny Goertz, Nathan McKinney, Micah
Williams, Kirsten Pohle, Lora Doughty, Erin Blackstock, Nicole
Zaderaka, Kristin Wood, Jepz McEachin (my brosef), Jenny Ardil, Daniel
Fleming, and especially Allison Hayes . It was so wonderful having good friends come and stay and see what Austin is like, just wish there was more time!
The best part of the weekend was that it continued on for the following
week! Allison got to stay for a whole week and it was
AMAZING! She got to see what my life is like as a college youth
ministry intern. It was just wonderful having her close by, made
me realize just how much I love and care for her, and how truly
thankful I am for having her be a part of my life.
I also got the opportunity of a lifetime to go and hunt middle
schoolers with paintballs! It was fantastic even though I got
shot square in the chest. Made me feel TUFF. I also have
been getting to play with the University of Texas ultimate team (graze
and tuff). Starting with three on three and following with trying
out for one of the teams. I found out I can no longer play there
because I am not a current student which really stinks. Sadly, I
had to once again say goodbye to Allison, only to find her coming back
to visit the following weekend!! Which once again was
AMAZING!
I was very thankful because this past weekend I got another opportunity
of a lifetime; Preach in front of a whole congregation!! I will
have to say I have never been more nervous in my life. God is SO
good and faithful and helped me through the entire sermon! I will
actually have a cd of the entire service so that should be a wonderful
souvenir. It blows me away how fast the time has gone, it is
October, that doesn't seem right.
I will truly miss this place, but cannot wait to be home.
Only two big events left and then it is planning for the Spring, which
I will no longer be here, but hopefully will come back and visit!
Hope all is well! Sorry it has taken so long :) peace and love

| I spent the majority of yesterday in Houston, TX which was quite
enjoyable. I went with the youth "staff of Cross Pointe to a
Youth Specialties Core training day. Les Christie was the speaker
and did an amazing job! It was great to me because the focus of
his talk was over the book Hurt by Chap Clark which I just got done
reading! It is a fantastic book, very sad to see this happens,
but great in the way it shows us how we can "prevent" against
abandoning the youth of our culture.
Today was fun, found a sweet new frisbee golf course, it is quite challenging and fun.
I also got to hold the new iPod Nano; it is super fancy
I also just purchased the new Kanye, it is pretty good; weird to think
I just bought a hip-hop album oh well. A special thanks goes out
to The Jake and The Benny for this.
ACLF in 5 days I cannot wait!! It is going to be a ROCKING good time
