  • I keep hearing an ice cream truck. I think they sound a little bit creepy, because they remind me of this time I was in Pittsburgh....
We were leaving the Pirate's stadium and it was raining a bit already. All day it had been threatening to storm, and it looked like it would burst any moment. Josh and I decided to take the stairs while everyone else took the elevator. When we reached the bottom, there was no one around. The elevators come out at a different place than the stairs do. Josh grabbed my hand and we hurried through crowds of people who were trying to get back before it rained. The sky was almost black now. Across the street in a parking lot was an ice cream truck playing eerie music in the semi dark. It was like a moment out of a horror movie: weird weather, a semi-dark sky, eerie music, and us racing to find someone.
then the moment passed, we found the rest of our party, and we made it back to our car before the storm broke

  • Last Wednesday Josh and I were at the beach. We were watching the sun set and playing with our toes in the sand. We were also watching something strange that was in the water near the edge. Every so often it would catch the sun and wave around. Our curiosity got the better of us and we walked closer to see what it was. There was a fish that was behaving strangely, his head down rummaging around for something. Josh snuck up behind him and herded him to the shore, then he scooped him up in his hands. There was a struggle. "Em! Go grab your camera!" I sprinted half a mile to where we were parked and returned with my camera. Josh was soaking wet and had sand on his face by this time. We got a few pictures with it, but we had to let it go because it was dying. We never saw it again, but we had the pictures to prove that Josh caught a fish with his bare hands.
The fish was a sheep's head, which we found out later.
    It was quite an adventure.

    he is covered in sand:

he looks mad at the fish

  • Dear Bobbie, Do you remember when you were young and very pretty? I do.
I remember pleated skirts, black and white saddle shoes.
Do you remember dancing half the night?
I do, I still think of you when we dance,
Although we can’t jitterbug as we did then.

Do you remember when, How long has it been?
1945, you opened my blue eyes, To see a whole new life
Do you remember when, I told you this that night,
That if you're by my side,
When every day begins, I'll fall for you again.
I made a promise when, I told you this that night.
I'll be fine,‘Cause when I die, then I die loving you.
    It's alright, I'll be fine.

When I die, then I die loving you,
    Loving you, loving you.
Do you remember the times we would give up on each other, and get back together?
Then we finally was married in 1949.
We drove the yellow convertible on our honeymoon. Do you remember? I do.
Life has led us here, Together all these years.
This house that we have made, Holds twenty-thousand days.
And memories we've saved, Since life has led us here.

And I'll be fine, (I’ll be fine)
’Cause when I die, then I die loving you.
It's alright (It's alright), I’ll be fine (I’ll be fine)
‘Cause when I die, then I die loving you, Loving you, loving you.

I'm coming home to you, Slipping off my shoes.
    Resting in my chair.
I see you standing there, The silver in your hair.
    I'm coming home to you,

When I lay tonight, when I close my eyes,
I know the sun will rise, Here or the next life.
As long as you're still mine, Then it’s alright, I'll be fine

‘Cause when I die, then I die loving you
    It's alright, I'll be fine
‘Cause when I die, then I die loving you
Loving you, loving you You have grey hair now,

But you are a beautiful woman,
And the years have been good to both of us.
We walk slow now, but we still have each other.
The glue of love is still bonding us together.
Love is what I remember. Do you remember?

I don't know what the artist's purpose was for this song, but I thought the lyrics were very sweet.
I want to find someone who would tell me I'm beautiful when I'm old and grey!!!

  • A startling Discovery

My sister and I were on the internet watching clips for high school musical two. I was watching the main actor, and I thought he looked like he was a twenty-something who was pretending to be a high schooler. We were curious about his age, so we looked up his biography. His birthday is October 18th, 1987, exactly the same day and year as me! That just made my day to learn that I share a birthday with Zac Efron!!!!

P.S. I've never seen either of the High School Musicals

  • Someone in my hall was recently eating animal crackers, and I started to recite this poem(of which I only remember the first four lines) and she had never heard it before. I decided to post it for those of you who never heard this poem in their childhood.

    By Christopher Morley:

Animal crackers, and cocoa to drink,

    That is the finest of suppers, I think;

When I'm grown up and can have what I please

I think I shall always insist upon these.

What do youchoose when you're offered a treat?

When Mother says, "What would you like best to eat?"

Is it waffles and syrup, or cinnamon toast?

It's cocoa and animal crackers that I love most!

The kitchen's the cosiest place that I know:

The kettle is singing, the stove is aglow,

And there in the twilight, how jolly to see

The cocoa and animals waiting for me.

Daddy and Mother dine later in state,

    With Mary to cook for them, Susan to wait;

But they don't have nearly as much fun as I

    Who eat in the kitchen with Nurse standing by;

And Daddy once said, he would like to be me

Having cocoa and animals once more for tea!
