Things have been different lately.
Late nights full of thinking, afraid of going to sleep lest I just lie there and think.
There's this strange hole in me which seems to have become incessantly present as of late.
A big truth hole.
I am becoming accepting of my own questions.
Often I feel confused and frantic and worthless and heathen and unlovely.
I'd love to be loved.  Nearby.

I'm learning a lot about confidence.
What I deserve; how to think about who I am.
How I function as a woman.
Why your opinion does not matter.
Now if I could just act on it.

As you probably know, much of Southern California is or has recently been on fire.
Burbank is safe for now.

And even in the midst of all of this, while driving home tonight, a man in the car next to us threw his cigarette out the window, sending embers bouncing all over the road.

People really are dumb sometimes.

Sometimes...

...you just want someone big and strong to hold you in his arms because you're tired of being independent and taking care of yourself.

I'm workin' it this weekend.

They needed help shooting the Alpine fiftieth, so I volunteered.  Dave said there will be one, possibly two other people working with me.  But I don't know whom.  Surprises, all around.
Going up Friday night, working Saturday and Sunday morning.  I's going to be a partay, people.
It will be nice to be up there, above the smog, and actually have a job to do again so I don't feel like the outcast weird-o visitor.  Yeah.
There is a viable chance it could be three kinds of awkward.  I am looking forward to this.  Like a twisted psychological experiment.

Yeah baby.

AND the film I shot this past spring is playing in the LA Shorts festival this Thursday evening at 9:45P at the Arclight in Hollywood.  I would absolutely love it if all of you came to see it and thoroughly inflated my ego.

Tonight I dragged Vickers with me all the way to San Bernardino to have dinner with some Alpine people.
It was generally a good time.
I saw old friends and made new ones.  And had berry cider.
Afterwards we saw "Shoot 'Em Up."
I think I was the only one who enjoyed said film.  It was exactly what I was expecting: a Bond-meets-gangster action flick parody.  Come one people, he kills his foes with carrots.  Sometimes.

In other news, I'm doing well.
I went to Yosemite, again, over the Labor Day weekend.  A group of co-workers from Birns decided it was high time we got out of LA and breathed clean air.  We hiked quite a bit.  And everyone wants to do it again.  Yay.

I replaced my headlamp bulb again today.
It has burned out three times now, while the other side's bulb is still going strong.
The man at the shop said water may be getting in there and causing them to short out.  Boo.

Sleep!
