  • Ok so I NEVER post and have a life.  I just can't help it!

Now more than ever seems like the right time to finish my electric truck so much spare time is devoted to that.

Once finished there I am sure I will post lots of pictures for everyone to see.

  • By Request Bottage By Sysi

Lets talk about bot killen in a third person! Especially since (as we all kno) it is a violation of the User Agreement to exploit something like a pine wand and harass another player (which begs the question - is a bot another player?)

    OPTION I

    The Maple Gambit:

If you don’t mind going pink for about 1 minute bots may be killed "in the field" while they are hunting/gathering if you maple them to something WHILE they are striking a mop. If you maple them before they are hitting something your shape shift of them protects them. It seems many of the bots STOP hitting mops if they are morphed. As to those that continue to hunt and attack, well lets just say they don’t last long.

But bots have a good program of self preservation - when they go down to about 25% of their HP level they auto venz (90% of the time by escape). So guess what, if you escape you will very likely end up right beside the weak bot in town. This brings us to hypothetical option II.

    OPTION II

The Home in the Pines Gambit:

As a variation on the Maple gambit, this one can be problematic - if you have a morphed bot, this will NOT work. So let me give you MY experience:

I was using pines in Guildo to regain my law, you know making mops and killing them for my personal use only. Sometimes a spider or BB would wonder over to a bot who was just standing in town regening. Bots in that state are kinda funny because when a BB hits them they don’t fight back or leave, they do what they are programmed to do, they quaff reds! What happens you might ask when they hit that 25% of HP level? They do what they are programmed to do, they escape. Where do they escape to you might ask? Pretty much the same place they were just getting hit. The result of this is predictable, they can’t quaff reds forever so they lay down.

Just to be clear, I did so try to kill the mops that got away from me, but sometimes one is just not fast enough.

What does a bot do when it is dead? Well the way most are programmed is they auto-restart in the same town. Do you know I have seen the same bot die in exactly the same way to the same accidental spawn that escaped from pines six and seven times? Ouch!

    Asides and Rememberences

Many of these bot programs (and bot programmers) are very good.  Many of the bot programs are setup with a user who can see many computer screens and if that user happens to see one of their cash cows in trouble they will do a manual override (meaning move to another town) or some have a "protection" bot that they can place in the town who shoots anything in town that might hurt the cash cow that is regening.    This is not a great option for the bot programmer because an account that could be earning @ is now dedicated to "in town protection".

DON'T Harrass other players by pining - REMEMBER if you pine to regain your law (like I do) and aggressive mops are on you and you are standing near a bot and venz - those aggro mops will attack the poor bot!    If you then come back to the town you will see the poor bot is just getting hammered as a result of your thoughtlessness.
