Here is an excellent book that I have read several times. This book is by Randy Alcorn about the persecution of believers in other countries. It is very interesting especially considering there is quite a bit about heaven and the Lord in it! As the players are going through what they have to in the 'Shadowlands' those that have reached eternity are watching what is happening in the lives of 2 men in particular. One is in America and persecuting Christians by not allowing them the freedom of worship within the job situation and the other man is in China being persecuted for being a believer by those in authority. Both knew each other in college but parted ways and hadn't seen each other about 20 years. A series of interesting events bring them back together for a time and the Lord works through the situation.

How many times do we fear being persecuted possibly to the point of death? How willing are we to suffer for Christ whether through loss of reputation (like Joseph), through friends and family that won't have anything to do with us anymore because the truth of God's Word convicts their hearts, or even through death?

Jesus tells us that as He was hated by the world, so would we be hated by the world. The world loves its own and if we are true believers, the world will hate us just as it hated the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us dwell on the Lord Jesus Christ so we will be ready when a time of persecution comes our way!

Is this a biography or fiction? I'm always looking for a good book. I have a missionary biography I keep in the car at all times and read it when I'm in the Dr.'s office or in the car for a period of time. I've worked through quite a few books that way. I'd love to see a list of your favorite books sometime! Hint, hint!

Georgene, this is a book of fiction but it was written to remind us of the persecution of our brothers and sisters in other countries.
