almost a month between entries?  My life has been very busy. I will write again soon.

new accomplishment

I made my mom's pie crust today - with the towel to roll it on and everything.  In the oven now surrounding a chicken pot pie.  First time.  All the other pies and cobblers to come out of my kitchen have had a pressed into the pan with fingers crust.
Branching out here.

random

Told today:  "You're the poster child for the after life!"  (Not referring to eternity but to the empty nest.)

Reading material in my bathroom:  Art of War - Sun Tzu and Classic and Contemporary Readings in the Philosophy of Education - Steven M Cahn.  Just some light reading you can pick up for a minute of cerebral improvement.

Received in the mail today:  Christmas fabric, owl fabric and grocery ads.

Last five days:   interacted with about 725 people.

This week:  interviewed for a job for the first time in 20 years.  No, I take that back... about 8 years ago I went into a business that Harold worked at part time and inquired about a position that just barely existed. I stood and looked down on the two seated supervisors and told them how much to pay me and how few hours I was available.  That's not really an interview, but I was on the payroll there for awhile.  On my terms.

Feeling:  a little tired

Keisha Keisha, she's our friend....

This is me talking to Keisha at AT&T.  I called to grouse about the changes in the bill.... higher, thus the grousing.  BUT
she responded to my "Oh, well, thank you, I understand.  I'll just shop around then..." with
"Well, what can I do for you?"

And I told her I would like thus and such and she did that and MORE... so the bill is now half what is was.

I mean, when you are a senior citizen such as myself and have paid them for 27 years to have a phone ( imagine - my first AT&T phone had a CORD and it was an amazing new bonus to get one so much longer that you could walk 25 feet away from the wall) then it pays to ask.  I guess the free market system works and stuff.

Cathy and Sue at the reception

What are the odds that they would choose the same dress?
