Shelby at 10 weeks old

Shelby arrived in Seattle safely last night.  Her flight was delayed by an hour and a half so when we got home it was nearly 11pm.  Surprisingly she didn't make a peep during the car ride home but she was a little shaky from all the flying.  She had reservations about coming out of the crate at first, but was lured out by puppy food.  Good thing she was tired and fell asleep right after we fed her.  She slept for a good 4 hours until the early morning whimpering started and I only had a good 2-3 hours of sleep.  Ant and I were tired, but we think it's all worth it.  She is so cute and weights only 2.75 pounds at 10 weeks old.  Cream colored puppies have black hair when they are born and they change colors as they grow older.  Our puppy has one black streak across her back, from neck to tail, and reminds me of a skunk except with red and black hair.  I will show pictures once I find my camera cable to upload pictures onto my computer.

Antony and I are adopting a puppy and she's coming tomorrow!  I'm so excited!  I've wanted a dog all my life, but my parents never allowed me to have one.  She's a long hair miniature dachshund and was born on our wedding day!  It was coincidence, not on purpose, that we chose a puppy whose birthday shares our anniversary.  We've been waiting all week for her, but to fly a puppy on an airplane, both cities (departure and arrival) has to have temperatures below 80 degrees.  Tomorrow seems promising as De Soto, IL will be cooling down - they've been having 85 degree weather for the past week.  Our puppy will be 10 weeks old on Saturday and will get to go to work with Ant every single day.  Amazon.com is actually a very pet-friendly company, the only one I know of, that will allow employees to bring their canines to work everyday. We've picked the name Shelby and sure hope she looks like one otherwise we may have to think of a new name for her.  We bought all her accessories last weekend so she's all set to live with us.  Can't wait for our trip to the airport!  Yay!

Today I started my new job at Pro-Cost.  I'm now officially working along side Ant's dad, but it's a blessing as I didn't expect getting this kind of job until after I was married.  Right now I'm working at two different part-time jobs.  I'll be quitting my job at Eiffel Printing and Design by September.  I'm glad to have gotten experience from that company, because it is a fun job to assemble wedding invitations.  I don't mind working there, but I'll be working at Pro-Cost full time come September.

What a relief!  Ant and I were finally able to ship off all our wedding invitations to our out of town and local guests we don't see too often.  What a blessing that it wasn't as expensive as we thought it would be.  Ant got off work a little early to meet me at the post office where we diligently put the rest of the stamps on the invitations.  Props to the Issaquah Post Office.  They were nice and courteous, and we thought they were going to dread working with us and our box of 110 invitations.  Now that the invitations are made and sent...  now it is time to work on the programs.  Only 2 months and 6 days left.  Woohoo!!

Does anyone want eight weeks of free Bally's membership?  The membership applies from January 14-March 11, 2006.  It is a program by the Discovery Health Channel.  They encourage everyone to get involved in working out after eating the mounds of holiday foods we all love during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Years.

I've participated in the past and you can also join their free classes which include pilates, kick boxing, aerobics, and a bunch of others.  They've never hassled me in the past about joining their membership program, called me, or mailed me anything else other than the free sign-up package. Last time I received a cap and I've seen t-shirts around too.

I believe this is a nation wide program so everyone can sign-up as long as you're over 18 years of age.
