  • I'm in love...

    I am, definitely, in love.

First of all, with Dan, obviously.  :)  As I walked out the door I mentioned, "I may need some chocolate when I get home," thinking nothing of it, because it was just a random comment.  When I got home I was surprised with cookies.  I was, of course, thrilled and thought for sure they were pre-packaged and put on the pan.  No, Dan actually found a recipe, used the mixer and made me home-made cookies.  I was beyond touched.

Secondly, I am in love with baby Davis.  He's making me question whether leaving my nanny job was, after all, the right choice.  I went to work with the kids from 5 until bedtime tonight after work, and was lucky enough to have most of the time with just little Davis while the TC and Ev went with mom to get flu shots. I was also lucky enough to give him his first at-home bottle, dealt with his first at home "taking care of business," and held him for an hour and a half.  He's perfect and is identical to TC's baby pictures.  I get to go back tomorrow afternoon and I can't wait!

***also, it snowed/sleated/rained all day and it's actually sticking.  I may be mistaken, but I thought this didn't happen much until January??  I usually don't like this kind of weather, but right now, it makes me feel like tea, a blanket and a good movie.

  • Thanksgiving is coming...

I saw this on another blog today and thought it was pretty cute. :)

  • sandles to snowboots??

    Really??

Monday I was wearing a lightweight shirt and sandals, and really could've worn a tank top as it was 76 degrees.  TODAY, however, its' 32 degrees and snowing, and though it's not sticking on the sidewalks and roads, it's sticking to the grass.  So in the backyard it looks more like January than November.  So bizarre.  I guess that last project I had of planting tulip bulbs by the mailbox before it snows seems to be canceled for now.

    Anyway....

My lastest addiction is to saving money, not the worst addiction to have.  Dan's sister-in-law, Lori, directed me to a website called www.couponmom.com that helps you put store sales and extra coupons together to save extra money.  Even though she sent it a few months ago I've finally gotten on board.  It's almost like a little competition with myself to see how much I can save the next time I'm at the store. :)  Yesterday I saved $7.50, which was like 40% of my bill.  Then I was looking all over town for some specific paper plates (for Thanksgiving) and in the process I was at Walmart.  Now, typically I HATE Walmart.  The disorganization drives me crazy.  For example, they literally had different paper plates in 5 different areas of the store, making it nearly impossible to find the ones I was looking for.  The entire store is like that and due to my, ahem, particular nature it drives me mad.  BUT everything it so cheap there!  I wandered for a while deciding that I could deal with the disorganization every once in a while to save the extra $$.

Tonight is dinner with Dan's grandparent's and possibly meeting baby Davis, whose name I adore!  The rest of the weekend I'll watching some crazy little boys, Dan will be going to a Rosemount football game, and the Packers will be crushing the Vikings.  Enjoy it...

  • VERY exciting day!!

So, today some very exciting things are happening.

#1 - TC and Evie's baby brother is on it's way, a bit early, but he's actual probably already been delivered.  So exciting...I can't wait to hear what his name is!

#2- My uncle found out that my grandparents' house in IL is for sale.  We (meaning my dad and his siblings) sold it in 2000 when my grandma moved to MN and it's now not only amazingly updated, but also has a hot tub and is for sale.  So my cousin, Rachel, and I are scheming on how to buy it as a family vacation/reunion house. It's huge and well priced, plus we love it.  In reality, it's probably not happening but it's been fun to remember everything that occurred there when we were little. :)

Here's the link: http://www.trulia.com/property/1057916510-110-N-Seminary-Ave-Mount-Morris-IL-61054  If you click on the main picture it gives you a slideshow.

#3- My friend Arleigh is a videographer and worked with another friend who works for Best Buy on a project.  Best Buy chose from a few different videos and picked theirs to run on YouTube.  It is HILARIOUS and best of all, for me, it's full of people I recognize and was shot in Arleigh's house.  Arleigh is the main female character.

#4- It's Halloween!  Oh, and we STILL don't have costumes for the costume party we're going to tonight.  Wish us luck!
