I had a great weekend, but there wasn’t enough Andrei in it.

We slept in Saturday, and ate lunch with the McCoreys. Andrei and JR went to the giant gun show in Tulsa, and then I went to Andrea’s house.  We watched youtube videos until 3, then my friends Cat and Darry picked me up and we went to the Lebanese Food Fest/Bake Sale at St. Elijah to see Fr. Justin. Then we went to Tulsa, to St. Antony’s Food Fest/Bake Sale, because  the point of the trip was to go see Darry’s friends there. So we did that, ate for free. Delicious! In the meantime, Andrei says he’s going back home. We had been planning for him to pick me up at the church, but our timing was off. LI brought backup church clothes, so it was ok.  Then C, D & I drove around town, looking for a place to hang out, went to Doe’s Eat Place – there was a game on, it was loud, so we left. We tried to go see C’s auntie, but C’s phone wasn’t working, so we just went to her house, and she wasn’t there. C was going to crawl in the window and let us in (totally the Indian way, I was told). Auntie has a sweet pit bull and a black Great Dane, so we wanted to see them (R didn’t, he’s a cat person), but we were unable to get in. Lame.  After that, we ended up at Chili’s, talking. Darry ordered an appletini, which changed my life forever.  Then we got lost in a really good neighborhood, trying to get to the house we were staying at. I was driving, since I had imbibed very little.

We got in, slept, got up at 6:45, so we could be at church early. Darry likes to help out before the services, because he’s cute like that.  We get to church, Fr. George lets us in. Darry goes to light candles, etc. and Cat and I hung out in the church library and in Fr. George’s office while he gets ready. Cat got to pick the color of vestments Fr. wore, she was very excited. She picked red, because that makes a priest look like Superman up in the front of the church. AWESOME. Fr. G  is super cool. We also folded the bulletins, which made Darry sad, because that’s his  FAVORITE JOB. Fr told him he needed to share his awesome responsibilities. Anyway, service was pleasant, St Anthony’s is very cozy.  We three took our hosts out to eat afterwards, saw a drumline outside the pub, went to Auntie’s house, met the dogs,  who were in fact, very cool. We met C’s crazy gramma, and then ran off. We got lost on the way out of town, and ended up going down  route 66 instead of 44 for a while.  C dropped me off around 7:30, I got the guest bed ready for her, and she dropped Darry off and came back around 9, we watched Ginger Snaps, a Canadian werewolf movie, and went to bed.  YAY!

Weekend Update

My weekend was pretty super.
First I got up Saturday morning and did roller derby car wash fundraiser, we made $270, not bad for a morning in October. it was perfect car wash weather, actually. October is my favorite month, the bugs die, it's not too cold, and it smells great. When you can smell.  I feel like we watched a movie afterwards, then went to church, no kids, so no youth stuff. Came back home and watched a movie. Or slept.
We went to church Sunday,  then an Orthodox Spirituality class, then Academy so Andrei could find something for his guns. It wasn’t there. Then Sportman’s Warehouse, and then we went home and played video games/played on internets, took a 4 hour nap, got up, made supper and watched MST3K until 3 in the morning. Not bad. This sort of sleep pattern does tend to give one weird dreams, or make you more likely to remember them, because it jacks up your REM patterns? When I woke up, I was convinced that I had moved to the Panhandle to teach, and that the youngest brother and Mom lived with me because my folks were getting a divorce, and mom couldn’t live by herself, because of the knee. That was pretty bleak.

Father and I talked and he said I was a hurt, angry person inside, and there was a reason I was hurt, and I needed to get that out. Also, when confronting people who make me angry, I need to look them in the face, tell them I’m mad, and calmly explain why, because that’s harder to do.( I am very angry at my uncle Marvin, for selfishly wasting my dad's life in indentured servitude for about 10 years, and not giving him anything back. I would talk to Marvin, except I think he's an angry person too, so we wouldn't get anywhere, and also, he doesn't have a clue who I am, so we wouldn't get anywhere. He doesn't recognize me when he looks at my giant head that matches his giant head.)  Also I need to pray more and internalize what I pray, and internalize scripture, which should often be the same thing.  So I'm not inherently a meditative person, and this will be new to me. In the meantime, I may also express my anger towards individuals. It might be better to say I'm mad at them. My brother and my husband are both more honest than I am, and call BS when they see it, or say they're not interested, or whatever. I've done more of the smile-and-nod type endurance. Yeah, this seems not nice, but maybe that is better.
And I can exercise, of course, to release aggression. I haven't hit anyone in months, due to lack of private practice space.  I am sick of rinks and adolescents skating slowly in circles making out, or whatever, annoying me and taking up my space. This too shall pass. We need a building to house our fabulous track, so I can bring the pain, and reign down my horrible wrath on all n00bs who dare to skate my way. Yessss.

Haiku from Work

So I don't really like office coffee, but must drink it to stay awake/employed. Therefore I rely heavily on the office creamer.

No creamer? No way!

NO, acrid dirt-water! my

Silent scream echoes

My life is ruined

Bitter office coffee lacks

its creamer powder

Empty canisters

devoid of white chemical

can't help my coffee

Greatest tragedy

engineers mock my sorrow

Why no more creamer?

4th of July

I ate A LOT of food this weekend. That’s my own fault, but I was always hungry. No wonder the family thinks that if you don’t eat meat, you’ll die. Anything without meat is made out of air and mayonnaise, loaded with sugar and/or cheese. I need a sturdier protein, hello...While I do enjoy and take pride in being a lactose-tolerant descendant of herding peoples( the immediate family had a dairy, for graciousness), every dish does not need to have dairy product in it. I think. Not that I don’t like the food my mom and grandma cook, it just takes me like 2 days to adjust to the dairy salt/sugar overload. And then it’s all over, and I come back home bloated.  The bloat might be just because I haven't excercised in like 3 days, too...
