Romans 12

Living scarifices!!  Never before did the “living” stand out as it does now.  I mean, I knew but it never completely clicked from this passage by itself.  We are to be living sacrifices; sacrificing our lives to God.  What does this mean?  I imagine it means that everything we do we are to do for the glory of God, to serve God; which is logically and perfectly understandable because we only have lives that are living because of his sacrifice for us.  So of course he calls us to pick up our own cross and follow him.  To die to our sin and be risen again in the glory and power of Jesus, being filled and sanctified with his Spirit.  However, he is aware that the world is good in its sin.  So not only are we called to sacrifice our lives to God, but we are to do so without conforming to the patterns of this world.  How can one completely sacrifice their life if they indulge in the sins the world endeavors in?  They can’t.  We are not supposed to hold the same desires, and the same values as the world holds.  We are not supposed to indulge in drunkenness or fornication, or even selfishness which is one thing society makes it impossible to rid ourselves with.  I believe selfishness is the devils best tool.  But, selfishness is a pattern that belongs to this world and not God.  God is anything but selfish.  Even at the cross Jesus was concerned for the well being of those who persecuted him, of those who nailed him there.  And truth be told, we are the ones that nailed him there.  He dies so we may live.  He died so we are no longer bound by our sins, but so that we may have eternal life.  So it’s because of our sinful lives that Jesus had to die.  A sacrifice that we in no way shape or form deserve, but was given anyway because of the love and grace that is characteristic of our God.  However, I understand it is hard to not conform to the patterns of the world, and give in to the desires and beliefs, but that is why we are also called to renew our minds everyday with the Spirit and the presence of God.  Which I think every Christian should begin their day with.  Because the first experience a person has in their day can greatly determine the outcome of that day.  And what better way then to start the day with a high on Jesus and the Spirit.  We should all pray and seek such highness from the Spirit that people would look at us and think we are drunk and crazy.  But, how many of us truly wish for that and pray for that.  And if we do pray for it, how many of us do so with the complete heart of willing to give up all sins that we continuously give into everyday.  “But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.” It’s because of our own worldly desires that we even have temptations of sin.  So, if we renew our minds everyday before we immerse ourselves in the world, then we can successful achieve what God wants us to; which is be immerse in the world but not become part of it.  Because, this is not our world but those who refuse God.  So, do not desire sinful things, but desire God.  If desire once conceived can give birth to sin then desire can also bring righteous and purity in ones life.  It’s a matter of what you focus on and surround yourself with.  Surround yourself with God!!! Learn his Word, study it! Know it! So when satan tries to give us evil desire we are equipped with the full armor of God so we do not conform to the patterns of the world for we will have been renewed by the transformation of our minds to solely Jesus Christ,  Who is good.  That’s the end of my spheel.

Good morning... first week of school has finished and it's been great seeing all of my friends, even the ones who thought i didn't like them ... but of course, there were some ups and downs... a downer, that one of my friends and i were having trouble, so much that we didn't even look at eachother; however, one of my most exciting "up" this week was discussing the problem with this friend, b/c now i can try to act like me with hopes he/she can also... another downer, class!!... class is terrible, oh so boring... wake up everyday at 8:45AM (LORD ALMIGHTY!!! WHY ME??!!)... but, i have been going which amazes some of my friends.  Another aweosme "up" this week was talking to my awesome friend in Georgia, whom i missed tremendously today and wish i didn't leave my phone in Pfahler so i could have called her (hope she's doing well)... anywho.. it's 4 am so i think i may go watch a movie or if i'm feeling sane, go to bed...

oh... on another note, i'm quite lost as to what i want to do, which isn't good considering if i decide it isn't chemistry i may be wasting not only two years of college but tons of money!! hopefully, i decide soon...

it seems the break is coming to end....

i'm due at scu in a few days... OH NO!!!...

but anywho... break was awesome... for those few who read this i had a wonderful time ...

of course... i started working as soon as i got back, but i did happen to get a CELLL PHONE!!! for christmas... which is quite cool... so those of you who i enjoy talking to be sure to give me your cell phone number.

I also got to spend time with my sweetie pie cupcake... which was fun of course...

Then after christmas i went on this christian retreat with this group called FOCUS.  It was alot of fun, met some really nice people there and the kids i met were awesome.  I'm sure i'll do more stuff with them in the summer. 

Then after that i worked again... however... i did get to talk to my awesome friend Than from home... it was good speaking to him again, God is really working wonders in his life which made me happy to see... I also got to talk to my friend from GA which was cool; she seeems to be a lot happier now (as far as i can see) which makes me happy as well. 

NOw... crazy me... i went and bought about 25 movies over break... now lets do the math... 25 x (i'll average the prices and say) 12 = a lot of money... but all well... at least i'm making a good dent on my dvd collection.  Before i die i want to have over 2000 movies... BOY... that's gonna take a while. 

anywho... hope everyone is doing well.. i love you all...
